Tell me what you look like, when you're going, and where you'll be, so I can shout things and run away, giggling!

Naaaah....

....

Bye!

I should hope not!

This thread was intended to be read only by the youth of DiS, not the aged.

BEGONE.

I have friends that are going,

and I was asked to tag along... even though I won't need to apply anywhere for ages. And there's no chance I'll be going to Leeds. Not sure if I'll bother.

It's quite nice though...

I'm going

I look like your mum, I'm going when you go, I'll be with you.

:@

Shut it, SADDO.

PS.

Do people actually go with their parents?

That would be hell on Earth, wandering round a University with my mummy at my side.

I once went when I was about 14, and sat in this garden looking at all the students and wishing I was one. It was snowing, and I fell in love with Headingley.

Oh Headingley. How you burden my mind.

thats not a nice thing to say!

that it holds your dreams captive...

i went to sussex uni with my gran

definitely in my top 3 most embarassing things ever: "you can't come here - its full of poofs"

Ahem!

Bamoos!

Nah - Bamos in drag is far funnier

...

I really should go home now because I can.

Bye!

Im thinking of applying there

i really should be going.

Oh well.

DO!

We can be gig-buddies!

Although chances are I'll be moving away from Leeds...

Yeah

i thought I had narrowed it down to edinburgh and london, but then i crossed off london cos I think it wouldnt be "studenty" enough.
Though it feels like im wasting an opportunity to be adventurous by just going to edinburgh, though it makes sense cos i could start of doing 3 subjects, as I havnt really decided yet and have become disillusioned with the idea of studying physics.

Yeah, I haven't really thought yet

because I have another year before I have to start applying, but I'd love to live in Edinburgh or London. And they both do transfers with The University of Utah! <3

Come to edinburgh!

Festival!

my sister goes to Leeds

it's ace. The only downside, apparently, is what she calls 'rahs' - there's ever such a lot of loud mean posh girls at Leeds.

they're incredibly annoying

and not entirely a headingley problem unfortunately...

i realised I say 'haitch' today.

upsetting :(

I also say the 'o's in words like 'sword' and 'porn' wrong. I get made fun of all the time.

PITY ME!

Rahs don't say "haitch"

I don't understand where you've got this idea from.

they're everywhere

you actually can't escape them if you head to any redbrick.

i'm doing campus tours!

oh yes...

If you think Leeds has a rah problem....

it's a fucking good thing that you're not going to Durham, Edinburgh, York, Exeter, Bath or for the less academically gifted rah...Oxford (Brookes).

Oh, see also Bristol

Clifton reprazent or something.

Bath and Exeter are the worst

I should know, I'm at Bath.

I will admit that I just checked your profile pic....

to see if you were wearing any Jack Wills.

But, you weren't so you win!!!

i dont know

edinburgh is quite bad, i've known people that went to oxbridge to comment on how 'noticeable' the affluent upper-classes are at edinburgh

the scottish have

always been better at being english than the english :D

its not so much that at edinburgh though, apparently there are more old etonians here than at any other university in britain, given how many english students there are here its pretty rare to meet anyone who went to a state school...

^

Yup, and the hideous stories of parents who BUY houses for their child's second and third year. Not that it's bad if you can afford it, but that is serious wealth...

i went to the university of reading

and one year my mate was doing campus tours for prospective students. one person asked her 'can one keep one's horse on campus?' !!!!!!!!!!!

there are quite a few rahs here really, they are all agrics or rowers.

on the rah issue

I was at leeds from 01-06, the annoying 'daddy bought me a car last weekend' girls (and their counterpart fellows) are indeed spreading out of headingley into hyde park, desparetly trying to find some balance between fashion/hipness and the 'cooler' slacker style of hyde park, forcing the prices up an all. I think everyone will have to go to Woodhouse or Kirkstall. BASTARDS.
On the other hand, there always were so man sound people in leeds, I'm sure you can ignore the annoying ones. And so many options to go to at night, whether it's staying around Hyde Park (or wherever becomes habitable) or going into the centre.
West Indian Centre FTW!
(although subdub's been taken over by the rahs... last time i went, no-one danced and everyone just stood around looking pretty. fun for 30min, got old, fast)
