any decent new music about?

Hey, has anyone heard any decent music lately? Just, I fancy topping up my mp3 player and i was wondering if there was anything really worth downloading out there. Any suggestions would be very welcome.

comes with a smile is a quarterly music magazine and is, for me, the best music publication there is. it costs about a fiver and comes with a 20 track CD all of which is brilliant. I only asked because a recent one included a feature and a song from Art of Fighting and that was where I discovered them. Wondered if you'd found them via the same source but obviously not. Try and get a hold of a copy of it the magazine, though, because it is quality. They may well have a copy of it in Steel Wheels. Or you can choose to ignore my advice entirely - entirely up to you :)

Well Mr Jones, I just might take your advice and hunt down this publication. If they are sticking tracks by Art of Fighting on the CD, then they have to be respectable!

I came by Art of Fighting by being sent a promo of album 'Second Storey' last year, but not playing it. It actually came out in Australia last August. Then i noticed a review of the album on DiS a few days ago, and as a result of the review... decided to dig the promo out and give it a 'blast'!

And boy, am i pleased i did!

go look around mp3 blogs on the net, it's the best way to discover bands IMO, i wouldn't know half the bands i do without em.

UM - for her profile pic i deem katietatie to be quite HOT! congrats.

I think you should look out for a killer new band called KEANE, they wear scarves and dont play guitars and generally put people to sleep armed only with the weapon of poor music. OR Oasis if you want to go even further underground!

I'm gonna keep on plugging CALIFONE because they are genuinely brilliant, but also try Nation Of Ulysees, The Wipers, Mission Of Burma and of course Iron & Wine as a couple of (very wise) people have already suggested

Ive heard quite a lot of Reuben material and I dont know whats so appealing about them.

Their new single is pretty awful-blamethrower or something. Musically its just bad bad bad.

Whats the fucking deal with this Willy Mason guy? That talentless KT Tunstall said that Oxegen was the 'Imagine' for this generation.

I hope that will bring a smile to some of your faces.
