"Faust, part one", if you're into that sort of thing.

Basically, I need music (pref. instrumental or wailing) that would fit a play that contains baboons chucking shit, decapitated children, rape (by exotic and beautiful creatures), sexy witches and satan. Stuff in the same vein of Xiu Xiu, Miranda July et al.

Suggestions plz.

the new Scott Walker

'single'

The Caretaker

perfect for it. Scares the shit out of me late at night with my headphones on!

As above:

This Song Is A Mess But So Am I - A heart for Amy, is instrumental and very dark.

Maybe even look into stuff like the Ghost Box stuff, or BBC Radiophonic Workshop, oh... Tim Hecker? Maybe.

Minimal piano music too.

Front 242 - 'Neurobashing' or 'Leimotiv 136'

Basically, anything industrial will sound suitably apocalyptic

Tom waits

Blood money or The Black rider for that "vaudeville" creepy-ness. Try the song "black box theme"

jacula - in cauda semper stat venenum

a bunch of 60's hippy satanists in an abandoned monastery, chanting and playing an organ. scary stuff indeed. or something by goblin, who did the rather excellent soundtrack to suspiria.

Frog Eyes?

Man Man?

In Dark Trees - Brian Eno

Also... The Advantage - Castlevania II

Depending on how the visualisations are presented,

my soul by Khopek might work.

SMATKA

might fit the bill.

Try the song 'suicide' - mental scary. He's a nice bloke too, I used some of his music for a film I made, he was only too happy to let me use it.

Diamanda Galas

specifically the Saint Of The Pit album. i think they used the first track from it in bram stoker's dracula to quite nice effect.
