Bands you really miss

Not many to be honest for me. But I do regularly almost cry at the thought of never having another Arab Strap CD to listen to.

This made up for it a little:

But not enough. Anyone else?

FUGAZI

Mclusky
Everyone who used to be good but now isn't / doesn't exist

...

Million Dead. Who I only ever got to see once, when I didn't really know who they were.

^ Exactly the same here

mine was at an all dayer, I was just waiting for Eighties Matchbox at the end of the day!

I was there!

love music, hate racism one? Yeah, there were a room fulla people sitting at the back and about three jumping about to MD. Couldn't believe it.

Yep :D

I still have the set times on my wall haha. Worst band of the day (and probably ever): Young Offenders Institute.

Haha, Oasis with a Manc rapper

stuff nightmares are made of.

Kenickie

Go on, laugh!

ha ha ha

I miss Pretty girls make graves

and Sleater-Kinney

although I refuse to believe they have actually broken up.

indefinite hiatus

repeat this over and over until you feel slightly better.

There is the hope that it is short lived

two years maybe? More in hope rather than expectation.

Indefinite hiatus

That's what At the drive-in said. The liars.

Damn I miss ATD-I.

^

I really wish I'd seen PGMG.

JARCREW

My 2....

Pavement

I wonder if Barry ATP will convince them to do a Slanted and Enchanted Dont Look Back......

Or Drive Like Jehu to do Yank Crime...

At least theres an abundance of Pavement recorded material

Mclusky

Pigeonhed

Velocity Girl, Lush, Jesus Lizard

Murder City Devil.

HOT SNAKES

SPAN

Lift to Experience...

Although I'm not convinced they could have followed 'The Texas Jerusalem Crossroads'. I only saw them once (supporting Steve Malkmus and Calexico at ULU), but it was totally incredible.

Hella...

aereogramme

yourcodenameis:milo. just found out fickle public split too. gah

Symposium

...

Symposium were never a great band, but 'Farewell to Twilight' is the song that most reminds me of being a teenager. Sigh...

The One Day at a Time

mini album was seminal.

When it came out in '97 everyone was so awestruck that they barely even noticed Ok Computer

GIVE UP THE GHOST

Death From Above 1979

mark morisson

time for another return surely?

Grandaddy

There's been something missing from my life since they called it a day.

Completely agree

Is Jason Lytle working on solo material?

The Delgados

The Delgados
The Delgados

good call

Was Glassjaw until the show a few months ago

Think I'll begin to miss Aereogramme properly as time goes on. Like alot of others Million Dead too, as I didn't really appreciate them at the time despite seeing them live as support loads of times

loads

cat on form
econoline (the full band line-up)
tsunami (SUCH a good band)
the original pumpkins line-up
windsor for the derby (not broken up, very quiet)
faith no more

and my obligatory "well I did miss them but they're back" is Superchunk who never actually broke up but played at sxsw for the first time in five years this year (without rehearsing!!) and liked it so much they're actively working again

Data Panik

Hugely underrated.

I miss loads of bands that I never got to see- Cabaret Voltaire, The Birthday Party and Cocteau Twins being the top three.

Oh, and I miss Swervedriver.

Shampoo

I need a 4th album...

Urusei Yatsura ruled my world for a while. Gutted ESG have retired too...

The list is nearly endless...

The Dismemberment Plan

QOTSA with Nick
Magnetic Fields

Was

that a bottle of Tramps Coke Bundoz!!

Clor

.

yes!

if only!

yourcodenameis:milo

just listening to them properly for the first time since they broke up and remembering that they were one of the best british rock bands of the past few years. criminally ignored by the kids and the press in favour of cack like bullet for my valentine and bring me the horizon.

queens of the stone age.
they used to be my favourite band but then they released one sort of mediocre album (with a couple of great songs on it) followed by two outright bad ones (with no songs on either of them) and now it's reached the point where the knowledge of the bad albums impedes my enjoyment of the good and brilliant albums that went before.

Ikara Colt

agree about

Yourcodenameis:milo also Million Dead but Frank Turner on his own makes up for it, Q and Not U, Refused, Quicksand, Hot Snakes, Drive like jehu. At the drive-in, Aereogramme.
