The Go! Team's Ian Parton was left distraught recently after being asked to produce a song for Craig David.
Parton, his group's lead songwriter, was approached by the hot headed, parody-worn warbler to work on a track for his new album. The experience left him feeling "gutted" and "insulted".
"I was asked to produce Craig David. I couldn’t believe it. I was mildly insulted and a bit gutted, frankly.
Parton continued to the Daily Star: "I can’t make slick sounding pop records so I guess a bit of white noise might make Craig sound more interesting.”

how could you be insulted by that request.. i really like the go!team's music and they're a great live band, but they make far too much of an effort to be credible. at glasto the singer was harping on about being indie and underground and stuff.. no-one gives 1/2 a fuck... just play you're music.. let the individual decide whether they like it or not.. and just politely say no to Craig David.

True - it probably wasn't the best move talking to the star in the first place - i thought it was piece about the album and I casually mentioned that I'd been asked to do a craig david remix (not produce him) - I said I half thought it was truly funny cos David is one of the funniest men in showbusiness and half was mildly gutted that they would think it a good match - i didn't think they'd make it the story - thats tabloids for ya.
