What bands have helped you to appreciate music that you couldn't before? Or what albums/songs? (It can be in any way possible and either a very slight change or a complete change).
For me I would have to say these ones:
1) Flaming Lips- Helped me to appreciate beautiful songs and music that is more pop than rock, before I just wanted a blitz of noise and heavy riffs.
2) The Dears, a song called The Death Of All The Romance- Also because it's a beautiful pop song, emotional and has dual vocals.
3) Yeah Yeah Yeahs- This is a strange one, basically I didn't like bands with female vocals. Or so I thought, I love this band now and I'm also into Asobi Seksu.
4) T.V On The Radio- This band baiscally made me a lot more open-minded about the music I like, I bought Return To Cookie Mountain and hated it at 1st. Now I really enjoy it the drumming in playhouses is insanely good.
Anyway I'm intrested to see what music has influenced other people's taste.
5) Muse- Basically everything has spawned from them in some way, even if it is indirectly.
