We are truly shit

it's not making my bad day any better :(

I'm even having trouble giggling at the Carlube adverts on the ad boards.

I keep waiting for Spurs to turn good...

I really like them. And Jol.

Happen soon plz.

if it happens itll be without Jol im afraid

I love him, but if his job was unsure a few weeks ago, it definately is now. Its a shame but its just not happening at all.

Bye bye Jol.

I think all the Spurs DiSsers should meet up and have a big manly cry together.

I agree

I'd like some man hugs at the moment.

*Hugs*

Feel free to hug back, i'm just glad I wasn't tempted to go.

im up for that

i dont know any spurs fans here.

:(

It's just so sad.

I'm a spurs fan

and for once, I have literally no comment on that.

Y'know...

I don't even know my team's result from yesterday. Oops.

1-0 win

Get in!

:D

2 points off 4th.

I feel sorry for Jol, his team isn't performing. Berbatov is a great player, but shit to have in the dressing room ta times like this.

at*

Count yourselves lucky

Some of us support the team at the bottom of league 1, bereft of ideas, tactics, money and players who want to play. Oh and we are going bankrupt, and am sure our two or three good players will be gone in January.

Would take a disapointing season in the premiership any time you want to swap.

You're such a fairweather fan

I support my local Sunday league side and they're shit. I'd give anything for a season at the bottom of league one.

Good point.

Of course, AFCB ar my second team, I meant to say that. I ACTUALLY support the local first school five a side team. Would sell my spuds for a shit season in the sunday leagues.

It's all relative

innit?

I guess

And I do understand that if you have got used to being in the latter stages of the FA Cup, and in Europe and stuff it must hurt to be struggling.

But, you know, when you are looking at your club dissolving in front of you, its hard to feel any sympathy for any one else!

[cries to self]

This is how Leeds started though

We could be on -15 points soon

:'(

Ha!

Well there is usually one "big club" down in the lower leagues so maybe its your turn.

(would be nice away trip so lets hope so - subject to me still having a club to support)

cue

unbeatean run

cue

unbeatean run

I have nothing

but sympathy for the fans of sides whose futures are practically all but over, while at the same time, the top clubs in the country pump shit loads of money into football outside of this country...what happened to the days of plucking talent from lower league sides?? :(

spurs did it.

it doesn't work.

who did they

sign from the lower leagues? Gareth Bale hardly counts

bale

dawson, reid, simon davies, gardner, lennon, huddlestone, michael brown.

and others which i can't even remember.

fair cop

but none of those were below Championship level though were they?

no because below that

they wont be good enough for the prem surely?

but they

used to be...unfortunately United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool's academies snap up anyone else now...as a result the middle man (ie the lower league clubs) aren't necessary and they don't make the money they need to survive...add to this a number of other problems and clubs below the Championship (and even some in it) will struggle to stay alive

bournemouth can't go bankrupt!

if you get booted out of the league, then we will be bottom!

Harry Redknapp

ought to be loaning out some of Portsmouth's untapped youth talents

He has done that

Wilson is okay, Begovic was fucking awful, but its all irrelevant as our manager, and pal of Uncle Harry's is an idiot.

is

Anderton still there?

are their

wages the reason they're going bankrupt?

Thta's the most common reason,

obvious but outgoings are more than incomings. Most of the outgoings are on wages so ...

Yeah Anderton is still here

and still one of our better players, and strangeley rarely injured.

We are going bust because the shit football is turning people away and we arent hitting our break even attendance.

Regardless of any common sense though I am pinning all our problems on Paul Telfer, who gets paid well, but is completely shit. He is my new scapegoat, and whoever said the other day that you shouldnt boo your own players needs to see that man play then reconsider.

I know...

its not constructive, but I fucking hate spurs.

another

good home result, and we're looking pretty good as far as the table goes. That said, we haven't really had any properly tough fixtures other than Man City away yet.

Being a massive Spurs fan

This is killing me.

Jol lost my support at Bolton with his crazy team selection. He did it again tonight.

Defoe, Taraabt, Huddlestone not in the squad.

Bent starting.

Tainio on when Bale was taken off instead of Lennon?

Time is up Martin.

Spurs were hopeless tonight

It really is time for Jol to go. I really can't see that he still has the dressing room (other than Robinson, who is sitting pretty after signing a seven year contract)

But there is something quite beautiful about seeing Darren Bent - the man who signalled a new 'top four' era at Spurs - so painfully short of confidence, and knowing that it probably stems from that glorious miss against Arsenal - the team who were apparently set to make way for this new almighty Yiddo force

Sucks for Spurs fans, but I have zero sympathy. Leeds showed that you can't just throw millions and millions and attempt to break into the top four that way

We are well and truly fukd for this season...

The spirit's gone - as some guy said up there, Berbatov is not the kind of fella you want in this situation and you wonder how many other players actually care that much about the team. We miss King Ledley big time, Dawson's gone to pot without him and we have no leader. Bale (our only positive this season) has probably broken every metatarsal and will be out forever.

COYS!

I thought this was your year

to break the top four? Oh dear.

A bad evening for Spurs

but as a betting man - I wonder what the odds were that every one of the top eight teams would win this weekend?

Ummm

aren't Arsenal playing Liverpool

ahhh

I see

I'm going to miss

Jol's post-match interviews. They are the best thing about Match Of The Day

Yeah, I like Jol.

I'm guessing Klinsman will replace him with though, he's already said that he wants to manage a club in London next and he's worshipped at Spurs, so logical conclusion.

Isn't this supposed to be your season?

4th place for sure lol

Its still early Glen

I'm sure they can break the top 4, at arsenals expense of course. I wish I could dig up that thread were everyone made there predictions for the league table this season.

Would make interesting reading

Arsenal have exceeded my expectations - I don't expect them to finish top at the end of the season but I don't think a top 4 finish was/is in doubt.

Spurs:

too good to go down?

There, I've said it.

on form so far

nope

They won't go down

but I would never stop laughing if they did.

Only if they showed a montage

of clips before the season of spurs fans saying how they were gonna break the top 4 and that Arsenal were screwed. That would make me chuckle.

I'm pretty sure they wont go down

They're looking very shit at the moment though. They were truly awful last night.

you are more

than welcome to take the "great" Garry Mugson of our Leicester City's hands...i'm sure Mandaric has already got Mourinho lined to guide the foxes dramatic rise to the top of the championship!

Well, part of that seems sorted

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/7058362.stm

The Leicester Mercury hoardings are running with 'MEGSON PLEDGES LOYALTY TO CITY', when that's the last thing a lot of people want him to pledge.

We won't go down,

but we do need to sort out the team moral. Seems like we can only play when we're getting beaten at the moment. Bent needs a few good goals to boost his confidence. Jol, as much as I like the guy a lot, has to go for the good of getting the teams heads back together. I predict that we finish 7th.

why are you so confident

you won't go down?

7th?

Christ thats optimistic.

10th at best.

7th is a big ask

considering how well teams like City, Portsmouth, Blackburn etc are looking. Granted it's still early but they're getting results.

Thing is, the prediction that Spurs would break the top 4

was an easy one to argue - SPurs had strengthened there good squad whilst Arsenal had lost their best player. Arsenal have exceeded expectations quite impressively; we're underperforming quite spectacularly.

(and we've been unlucky)

^ this

hopefully we can turn it around, still plenty of time left, but now id be pleased with a mid table finish and decent cup run (me being hopeful)

Not really

Henry didn't play for alot of last season and Arsenal still finished 4th. The young players got alot more experience and this has paid off. Arsenal have exceeded my expectations so far but I never doubted they'd be out of the top 4. Even with the signings Spurs have made they're not a top 4 team.

How can you say that though?

We finished 5th the last 2 years and supposedly improved the squad, although so far only Bale seems to have really done so, but thats the benefit of hindsight. Therefore saying that Spurs could push on seemed to be fairly realistic. There was no doubt that in previous years Henry was one of the best players in the world/prem, although its been shown that he maybe wasnt the best player for the team as a whole.

I think the suggestion that maybe Spurs could have made the top 4 this year was valid, just the signings havent done too well, and virtually none of our big names hae performed.

I agree with that

Spurs looked likely candidates for pushing into a top four place but I could never seem them overtaking Arsenal.

No one would have predicted the position Tottenham would be in now.

Yeah

I think if one of the top 4 had started poorly we could have done it, but as it happens weve been crap.

Look at your squad

its not a top 4 squad.

I was gonna run through the squad and argue

but i cant be arsed and youll just disagree. Currently there are 4 better teams than us in the prem, but at the beginigng of the season that wasnt certain, as Arsenal have performed well, and Liverpool have been ok too.

currently there are 17 better teams

than Spurs in the league.

well yes on current form

but now you are just being awkward.

you said currently in your post

and currently Spurs are 17th.

No point harping on about previous seasons now.

ok fair enough

but i should have said in terms of squad strength.

hasn't Jol played a lot of

different players yet you're still in the bottom three? Where's the strength in that squad?

Looking at our squad

makes our current predicament even more baffling! On paper we have a top 4 squad wihtout a doubt. Unfortunately we've had some important players injured, loads who've forgotten how to play and some who don't have the heart for a fight. We've also been a little unlicky (shouldn't have lost to United or Liverpool) but we've basically massively underperformed. Arsenal clearly have a better team, and that's a lot to do with Wenger, although i'd still argue we've got the better squad.

also we tend to be in favour of letting teams have a couple of soft goals

and thats down to Robinson as much as anyone. Its sad because i like him but ive lost all confidence in him. He used to keep us in games, and be a source of confidence, now he just seems a bit of a liability.

That

is quite simply the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen posted on here, and I have seen some bullshit in my team.

There is no way in hell that anyone could make an argument that spurs have a better squad. Thats just utter bollocks.

This exactly

In what positions are spurs better than Arsenal?
Goalkeeper? not a chance.
Defence and midfield? see above.
Up front? you could argue this but with the way RVP and Adebayor have been playing this season I'd say not a chance. Arsenal also have alot of talent on the bench and coming though.

LOL

Lehman V Robinson

Whos worse at the moment?

Lehmann isn't our goalkeeper

is he? Almunia is. And he is quite clearly better than 'Robbo'

yeah hes ok

wouldnt have confidence in him though

you haven't watched him then

he is solid as they come. Never drops a thing.
