The format, althought wearing a little thin, is brilliant. Pilkington says something ridiculously stupid, Gervais does an over the top laugh, repeat. Its hilarious for some reason.

I've only seen him on the extras of the 'Politics DVD' I was sent to review. If it's anything like that he comes across as the proto-typical 'Sun reader'.

comment I think he was better on radio, seemed more natural and I think he has used all his best gags on the old xfm shows and is just regurgitating them now (much like Gervais and Merchant)
I am obviously talking in stereotypes, though. Hence the quotes around the term.
I'm well aware there are a lot of people who read the Sun and don't fall into that category.
But what I'm saying is that I can't really see why he's great. He just seemed to be spouting narrowminded, whatever-ist rubbish under the guise of it being 'comedy'.

i hate the fact its no longer cool on wanky forums like this in dis to like ricky gervais, yes hes annoying and undoubtedly arrogant, but hes funny. I think he's genuinly pretty ifnorant as to what's going on in the world, but he is fairly intelligent in the way that his mind actually works. I don't think it's all fake, but perhaps he exagerrates his lack of knowledge sometimes. There's something about him that I quite like. Although I've listened to the podcasts, because I don't know how.
