speaking as a former teacher, I've got to say that there's nothing worse than sounding 'teacherly' in regular conversation. Do you want to come across like a pompous git or not?
And that's it.
I'd also like to point out that there's a bit less mutual anonymity here than other forums - some people have met GG, for example. He is not an anonymous troll. On the other forum of which I'm a member, it's HIGHLY socialised - 75% of regular posters all know each other - and moderation is very lax. Anonymous posting is still allowed, for example, even though text-speak and swearing are edited out by computer software.
