My, what a big face you have! Goldfrapp will release their fourth album in February 2008.
Seventh Tree, the first LP since 2005’s Supernature, is quite a departure from its predecessor, apparently; a MySpace ’blog post stating a couple of weeks back that “it might come as a bit of a shock to some of you”.
The record will be out through Mute on the 25th of February (26th in the US) and is a self-produced effort. Of the recordings, which were laid down in Somerset, Will Gregory and Alison Goldfrapp expounded:
"A sensual counterpoint to the glitterball glamour of Supernature, Seventh Tree is gilded in the butterfly colours of an English surrealism shared from Lear to Lennon.
“It shimmers and shines with the warmth of a hazy summer, an electric whirlpool over which Alison's glistening voice soars."

it does rather sound that way
hopefully not in the same way that Supernature was Black Cherry II - that album is so uninspired.

would suit me just fine. Supernature is an abomination. One of those horrible moments when a band you've been 'bigging up' for years release an awful, awful album which everyone hears- cue friends saying 'I heard that Goldfrapp band you've been raving about the other day... you have such crap taste.'
Supernature
is great. What the fuck are you lot on? God forbid an artist shows some diversity to their sound, honestly...
'Slide In' is worth the entrance fee alone.
The problem is
that album didn't show any diversity - it was just a bad version of the album before it.
Exactly.
It's rubbish. Black Cherry was a huge change from Felt Mountain- that was diversity. Supernature was just a limp, lifeless version of it.
