Who's coming to the Scala to get messy with the Mercury Award winning band of the year?

I'll be the one mashing it up large and sweating my nips off.

BRRRRRRRRRRRRAP.

KA KA KA KA.

yeah

but they've got wankers hair cuts and can't sing for toffee live.

bull

klaxons are shit.

actual shit.

I'll be watching

Bayern Munich vs Bolton.

Experimental Dental School > Klaxons

Come see them instead.

i

can't wait for NME to disappear once and for all

I won't be there.

I'm not sorry.

why are people calling klaxons rude names

one of the most horrible audiences in my memory

massive sweaty skinhead cunts, twats moshing throughout, some cunt continually pushing his back against mine.

only consolation was unexpectedly bumping into all of the pieces of steve, pieced together to make an actual steve.

80s matchbox was one of the most disappointing things ever. still love the stuff off the albums, but the actual worst sound i've ever experienced and absolutely no atmosphere. guy's voice sounds incredible tho.

but yeah, klaxons set had plenny good bits

^^^^ pretty much all of this.

BUT, man, klaxons look fucking tired. too much partying looks too taking its toll. and when are there gonna be some new songs in the set? the sound WAS crap for 80's matchbox but wasnt even that much better for klaxons.

still a fucking great live band. the drummer continues to amaze me every time i see them.

the crowd were complete cunts too.

"when are there gonna be some new songs in the set?"

Maybe when their world tour finishes and they've got the time to fucking write some new songs. They've been constantly on the road, bar ten days after the Mercury ceremony for nigh-on 18 months now.

After this forthcoming UK tour, they'll start writing.

yeah i understand,

i think their schedule is pretty punishing.

There are bands who are put through

a lot worse schedules. They have it just right to balance their success and popularity against their sanity.

one of them bumped into me as i tried to leave

release the bats. he did look awfully tired. they have looked like this for a long time.
they are going to burn out eventually. which is quite sad. they should really just have a rest.

oh man alive, the crowd were indeed a strrrrange bunch...

there was an old(ish) woman who looked like a witch and her old granny hair kept coming dangerously close to me.... I really wanted to go forward and dance more but there were so many people looking for a fight and stuff that I didn't want to get caught up in it... like standing by the bar earlier these bunch of really hard looking people barged past saying "hahaha this is going to be a laugh let's just fuck it up" or something, which made me a'feared... and that guy who so nearly started on steeeeve, ooooer

Klaxons were good but I agree that they did look quite tired, upon reflection. It was fun and good dancing times were had but it wasn't, like "ohmigahhd totes amAzing" ..the sound seemed quite quiet to me...
- that said, I am totally grateful I got to go - I'm not being churlish, honest!
