"4. THE CARDINALS and RYAN ADAMS
as far as I know, The Cardinals will be working on our new record in Paris, France just as soon as our west coast tour wraps.
It will be, as of right now, called THE CARDINALS III/IV.
it will contain songs by the Cardinals BUT I will be happy to reveal the vocal duties of songs, and the balance, will be between Neal and myself on this new record. That may be a long player, i dunno. As it stands III/ IV (alpha/omega) will reflect the Cardinals you hear live, during those two set nights. Only there will be songs of Neals now and some of mine But we write together and what we dont write together goes through such tough arrangement decisions and re-direction that I think we can all agree and the band certainly do, they are CARDINALS tunes and that is how that is. So YAY. fuck yeah. TWO vocalists.
also, not to stir or rock the boat, but an additional member may be coming to our camp, a new person to level out the keys side of things but it isnt concrete enough to give you any hints. If it doesnt happen fear not, we are terrible but charming at the paino.
As for a solo record, I am making a RYAN ADAMS record in my own time next year but it is not the kind you will be used to. I want to make a record with strings, an old style crooner record (no not cheesy) but something like For Only The Lonely if it had been made at Tuff Gong or something. beats more rooted in soul and dance hall and real soul style.
If or when I tour that Im gonna wear a suit, stand at an old microphone, play those places, comb my hair before, and melt old womens hearts all across the globe.
That the scoop.
Thats the skinny.
For the Cardinals, and for my small part of the island of manhattan, i wish you the warmest of autumn nights.
its my pleasure to share the wonders of music and the possibilities of new ideas with you."
i like how he rambles.
So Easy Tiger
is JUST 'Ryan Adams', but the Cardinals tour it, right? And presumably play the instruments on the album? So what's the difference? Do they just not have any input into the writing?
Either way I'm MEGA excited about seeing him on Tuesday.
lost highway
wouldnt let him put cardinals on the cover.
i bet they wont for this either.
can someone just kill neal casal? in a nice painless way if necessary
i'm pretty sure
he's out of contract with Lost Highway now.
bad vibes=not cute
i am very sad and mad about your post, jamie_summers. its just ugly.
especially followed by such a sincere post by ryan.
hopefully, you are a really young, impressionable person who will take this cyber bitch slap to heart.
i dont' give a rats ass if it was a "joke"~ it was bad and mean and wrong. yuck.
bad vibes are contagious and unfortunately, now, i am sending some yer way. nice work.
damn
now i feel bad
Can't someone just kill Ryan Adams instead?
... Did he just go there?
... DID YOU JUST GO THERE?
OH YOU DID NOT JUST.
feel the wrath of the massed ranks of Ryan-loving DiSers coming your way...
That soul one's gonna be ASE.
+1
It sounds lovely.
ryan adams
releases so much stuff, with so much chsff hiding the wheat, that i actually just don't bother buying ANY of it anymore. if he released one album every 2-3 years, and hid the rest in the garden shed. i might just buy one of his albums again. failing that, just hitch up again with phil wandscher and caitlin cary again please dude.
the thing is though
...that's just not true. People go on and on about Ryan needing to rein it in and get an editor etc., but really I've never understood it. Every album he's relesed (with the possible exception of RnR, though that was not without its merits...) has been truly exceptional in my view. Oh well.
Still, Whiskeytown were fucking ace.
^ exactly
I really don't see why people think he just releases loads of stuff for the sake of it, whereas really the majority of the stuff he records is simply amazing. I think if you only like a really small selection you just shouldn't really bother and stop slating him.
yawwwwwwn
