A lazy one. Without a baking tray. Merely a frying pan and a boiling pan. Go!

sausage and mash

Mash?!

Get out.

bye.

x

pasta

I thought that was all students ate anyway?
Or an omlette, like in those adverts.

Omelette was what I was going to go for tonight

Pasta made up the entirety of my first week eating. I might make more pasta. Another time. With chicken.

LAZY

Buy some more cooking equipment.

In the mean time, boil some pasta.
Cut up a courgette, and get a lemon.
Fry the courgette in butter until it's soft and a bit brown, squeeze in some lemon.
Mix it with the pasta. Put a bit of oil on. Grate cheese.
DONE

ps- I would put capers in too, but the fact that you have defined yourself by being a student makes me think you may not have capers.

That

sounds like it's amongst the worst things ever. And also way too much work. All of this is way too much work :(. Is there not something which is like a ready meal to cook, but not actually like a ready meal?

:-(

It's really really nice!
Ready meals are wrong in a bag, and stupidly lazy, but whatever!

ps

boiled egg and toast.

Baked Potato

Beans.

Cheap as fuck, filling, pretty damn tasty. Do you have a microwave?

Yes!

That's an awesome suggestion. Thanks!

baked beans on wholemeal pasta

.....sorted

For some reason I read "pasta" is "toast"

Probably the "wholemeal". Anyway, that would have given you an 8/10. As it stands, your suggestion rates only a measly 3.

sorry there was no mention of

toaster or grill as being available

Sorry

There is also a toaster and a kettle.

aha

have you ever boiled a sausage in your kettle?

I'll boil my sausage in *your* kettle!

No. No I haven't.

sorry I wasnt being rude

the mention of sausage student and kettle, brought to mind the most awful morning after hangover cup of tea so you can tidy up your student house after the party the night before, incident.

We couldnt work out why it tasted so bad (We had one of those kettles that ddoesnt have a lid just a spout with a flap and you put it on the stove......we tipped out the water and jumped when a revolting looking sausage poked itself out cheekily.

"and jumped when a revolting looking sausage poked itself out cheekily".

And so you should have done. Shudder shudder.

Actually, just make a really nice sandwich

go and get some really nice bread then put so much stuff on the sandwich you could convince yourself its a meal. Or just eat two of them.

Two words:

Fry up

students can make beans more exciting by

a) adding a cheesy triangle
b) adding some soy sauce
c) adding some curry powder

I was going to put some cheddar on top

Umm... can you buy it ready-grated?

You can.

It's more expensive and doesn't stay fresh as long.

I always wondered what kind of retard bought it.

I keep cutting myself

when I try to clean my grater :'(

Put mint sauce

on your toast when doing beans on toast!

Burgers

Cooked in butter, with gerkins and ketchup- perfect.

Or fish finger sandwiches, or fish fingers + beans on toast (if you have a toaster). Or bacon and egg sandwiches, or fried croque monsieur.

haha

You wouldn't say that if you saw my tour diet. ONe day it went

Fry up > Coffee > bacon burger > jelly babies > KFC

That sounds good, actually

Apart from the boiling chicken and stripping it from the bone and stuff. But I'm sure we can find a compromise. Thank you.

Advice to students

Go veggie......the meat that you can afford will be s***.

Go to an established asian shop and purchase a large bag of pulses. These will nees to be soaked quite a while and then boiled, but it is a really cheap source of protein

We just made

risotto with toasted almonds, breadcrumbs, and sweet garlic.

Risotto? Does it come in a bag?

Do you have to open the bag?
Too much work, next!

Thanks

I was getting sick of telling people.

pulses are the worst excuse for food ever

they all taste like how i imagine felched cat smegma would.

i love pulses

i have four different types of lentils in my cupboard!

gnocci!

We have a winner

Boil em, they float when they're ready, put pesto on em, done.

Yeah. It's like pasta but EVEN SIMPLER.

AND FOR GOD'S SAKE, WORLD, IT'S NOT PASTA

Also, ready made ravioli

Also, oven-ready lasagne with salad from a bag

Or, Covent Garden soup (of the 3 or 4 nice flavours)

This is what I eat if in a rush

Covent Garden Soup is expensive

Sainsburys do a really nice chilli soup and it's not really a soup, because it has far too much filling. It's delicious. And about 1:50 a go.

pasta bake

shit lasts for at least 3 meals.

Nutella and Bread

together at last!

Toast > Bread for nutella

ya nutter

spanish omelette!

simple shit.

I just fucked it up

:(

...

I know I'm ignoring your needs, but I went on the Cooking Healthily on a University Budget class at my school. And they recommended Lasagne. Did you know that you can make one serving for seventy-two pence! I bet you wouldn't even stop to pick up seventy-two pence! and if you substitute the something or other for creme fraiche it's even healthier!

wow

you have Cooking Healthily on a University Budget classes at your school.

i have the following items in my cupboard

potatoes
carrots
leek
onions
garlic
tomatoes
pasta
rice
kidney beans
vegetable stock powder

Any suggestions?

throw out the onions.

make a carrot and leek soup with the veggie stock.

or you could make bruchettta

if you have bread to put the garlic and tomato on! yum! oh but cheese helps too.

i'm gonna have a

fucking frozen pizza (oh fire alarm has finally turned off!) HELL YA i wuv pizza and cider yum yujm yuuuum

I always use my trusty

Nigel Slater cookbook: Real Food.

I haven't actually been eating that badly; spicy indian chicken baguette, chilli con carne, thai green curry, etc.

have you tried spicy indian

chicken baguette? or the sausage and pasta one?

those are two of my favourites.

i read it more than use it to cook

as i'm usually just cooking stirfries or tacos. but i have used some of the fish recipes. mainly i just love the way he writes, he makes everything sound delicious and he's got such passion.

ye

munch the veg stock wen u come back shitfaced from a night out. trust

holy

that sounds crazy,. i don't think i'd try that. this man sounds drunk.

rosti

my dinner is

rice i cooked three days ago with worcestershire sauce.

Don't try it.

varieties of baked potato

beans
beans + cheese
tuna + mayo
chilli con carne
just generally covered in cheese

the only problem being that the sainsburys near me never seems to sell big baked potatoes like what you get in restaurants, so sometimes have to double up.

Soup.

Lots and lots of soup.
