...trickles into grandness like a grainy black and white blurry post-war vision, all baggy shorted at firefly-lit beach parties and aloof chill of a neu Velvet Underground

Andrew Bird - Armchair Apocrypha
...like being touched by mating butterflies. Just imagine if Rufus could write a whole album as good as 'Cigarettes and Chocolate Milk' or if M.Ward was more Springsteen.

Emily Haines & the Soft Skeleton - Knives Don't Have Your Back
...released this one, biassed, nah, just love how it's the Clark Kent to her Metric Superwoman. Like Elliott Smith smelling a little of rosé.

The Field - From Here We Go Sublime
...proof that dance culture is about the only innovative place at the moment. Lush as fuck. Think spaceships reversing and being slumped on a twilit porch, too messed up to put your key in the door.

LCD Soundsystem - Sound Of Silver
...sounds like the Killers? Sounds like a outta control house party?

...capillaries click-clicking amid the fuzz and rush of mutant caterpillars and 8-bit roman numerals scrolling down your minds eye...
