maybe that means they'll get some decent booze in the onsite bars?

YAY!

this can only be a good thing

Ace!!

Here's hoping for the Guinness Followed by Double Southern Comfort & Lemonade Weekend

They need to get a Glastonbury esque

Brothers Bar. 2L bottles of 7% pear cider ftw

None of its idiotic goers would appreciate it.

They're all either NME subscribers or people that do that little devil sign with their hands.

if I see one more of those 'belong' adverts

I'm going to kill someone.

When you do see another one

make sure it's Hard-Fi you wreak chaos upon ;)

Finally

coporate bullshit out of music events, it does my head in seeing the 'Vodafone (something or other) Festival' and what not.
For fucks sakes is there anymore need to advertise in the face of the obviously aware public. Infact too much advertising probably has the opposite effect as you'd most likely ignore it from sensory overload.

Why do you give a fuck?

Surely you listen to music because you like the music. The conduct of a band or festival shouldn't matter in the slightest (unless they're paedophiles or lib dems or something).

Stop trying to be anti establishment. Its embarrassing, you should've grown out of it when you were about 14.

It will get replaced

by some equally evil sponsor. 'The o2 weekend' anybody?

The Asda weekend?

Burger King weekend?
Daily Mail weekend?

The WHSmith Reading

and Leeds festival?

Tuborg

If I was a betting man I would put serious money on them being the official alcohol.

that would be good

i like that beer and they seem less evil.

i think

they sponsored connect. At least it was what the beer was there. Right good.

They were the main supplier at Donnington too,

as well as a few over Scandinavia.
I read something about them wanting to increase their presence in the UK and festivals are usually the way forward, so...

Tuborg

is the beer at Latitude, which is organised by the same folks as Reading + Leeds.

Best news ever

We might get to drink nice beer at next year's fest! For which I already have tickets! Now can they leave the Academies alone?

The Fosters Weekend? The XXXX Weekend?

The Wella Shockwaves Weekend?

It'll be as bad.

it's always been

reading festival to me.

and is festival republic what was mean fiddler then?

yes

the company that own the barfly now own the "mean fiddler" name.

yeah i call it reading still

its just the abscence of carling which is good.

The Topman weekend anyone?

The

Scrumpy Weekend would be good

Thank God.

I thought you meant they'd stopped them all together. This would be awful for Glastonburyers.

Then again, I spose most of them would go to V or Download or somewhere equally embarrassing, what with Glastonbury being full of hippies and boring stuff.

PS.

I'm not happy its losing its sponsor.

The one redeeming feature for me was the fact I could buy crates of Carling cans at Leeds festival, which is usually my lager of choice.

Humour?

Carling tastes so dreadful to my mouth.

The Old Peculiar Weekend

I think that works well, would also drive away the Skins! crowd.

But that'd be lying.

Its not peculiar. You'd dupe Glasto fans into going, thinking they were having something interesting. Then they'd get there and realise its basically three stages and a campsite and want to kill themselves.

No matter what beer they have there.....

.....it's going to be warm & horrible. I fucking hate warm lager. And paper cups. I hate them too.

thats the thing

its not. You buy lager which is actually quite nice and then it gets warm, so you can change it for cold carling or buy cold carling. so the choice is shit cold beer, or beer thats warm. so carling wins, but only just. A nice cold beer would win everytime

or just do what i saw some people last year:

fill up a trolley with sainsburys economy lager. exchange for cold carling as neccessary.

in this situation, you're technically winning.

thank god!

it's about time.

I am now 10x times more excited

about Reading next year! Now they just need to get rid of Carling and Grolsch from venues as well and it'll be all good!

you cant knock the grolsch

its cheap and not carling.

It'll be Tuborg.

Which is the Carlsberg group, so it'll basically be Tuborg, Carlsberg (both piss) and the lovely Carlsberg Export. Winner.

ahhhh

its amazing how much better export is over the evil fizzy gut rot that is the original.

sorry, beer bore... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Something more ethical.

NAMBLA weekend!
