what are people up to today?
doing laundry now, but this afternoon:
i found my camera so i may go to the docklands and take photos of corporate glass and steel and wonderfully redeveloped old warehouses. i love it round there on sundays - it's so eery and empty and quite beautiful in its own way.
later on may pop into the tate for whatever is on at the mo, followed by a beer on the terrace. then am meant to be seeing bon jovi play at a tv show recording. i <3 bon jovi, serious. 'always' is pretty much my favourite song ever.
you?
i'm in the office until 5
so yeah, may it rain rain down
you're no better than jdt!
oh and mate's birthday so will have to drop by that
trying to have a sober weekend! :(
it's Saturday
all-day football.
i really need to get myself a camera. could you make any recommendations for a begginer without much money?
thoughts to those that are working. i couldn't ever work a Saturday. Sunday's, no problem, but Saturday's the day of rest.
if you want a compact, get one with lots of manual options
gives you the convenience of a compact but means you can do so much more. i don't have any recommendations reallky, but the panasonics are good. don't worry too much about megapixs - anything above 5 or 6 is fine. there are a few photographer-types on here that can offer better advice. maybe start a thread! :)
i bought a kinda half way between slr and compact panasonic
fz-7 i think it's called. i never really use it! instead i just use crappy cameraphone. most of the pics i take are of parties and my mates and stuff. should have stuck with an ace compact i could fit in my pocket :(
getting out of bed eventually
walking to Camden to buy a book and maybe a party dress, maybe wandering to Primrose Hill later, then going to see The Darjeeling Ltd this evening. Nice.
....
i feel ill today :-(.
me too
i am feeling crap. so crap. i can't move.
poor claire bear :(
overexerted yourself on the wii?
i wish :(
i had to have an early night last night cos i could feel myself coming down with something and now it is even worse. my head feels like it is about to explode.
oh no :(
you've been overdoing it, that's why.
there's a little event in islington this afternoon, if you're about. i might go, not sure. don't think it's free champagne though. but there's a magician!! majik will save you x
awww.
i ache aswell, im a xmas pressie wrapping drunkard pillhead. ;-[
ahhh i'm listening to the lemonheads
they really suit this morning
sorry to (almost literally) rain on your parade...
but...http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/24hr.shtml?world=0008
It is a really nice morning though
THA FUCK
i dont believe them
it's STILL sunny!
Its cooollllllllldddd
Im undecided
put on the central heating
light a fire
put on more clothes
good luck with that
the place is patrolled by camera-spotting security guards and sometimes even police. they'll move you along and/or caution you for taking photos. the whole place, i think, is technically private property, or some other clause that means they can stop you photographing it.
i dont think the streets are private
obviously all the plazas and stuff are
i like how it's all controlled. very gattica.
i dont think they mind you taking photos. i did get told off at more london or whatever that development by tower bridge is called. i was technically inside though, even if it didn't feel like it

there should be more public spaces
and viewing platforms and terraces and stuff in this city. in hong kong most of the buildings have those, and free guided tours sometimes. why don't we?
they definitely do mind
if they see you, they'll ask you to stop. i've been stopped twice round there. once at night by a security guard, and once in the afternoon with a friend, by 3 policewomen. they cautioned us, though i explained it was uni work [and showed them ID].
that's the place next to st katherine's dock, right? cool photo. i love that whole area.
other bank of the river
it's a great development. very sleek. they've angled the buildings so when you walk around the back you get perfectly framed views of the city / tower bridge. and the paving they've suggests decking. it's been executed marvelously.
i've wandered around the docklands and taken photos before - or rather my friend who i was with did - and we never had a problem! maybe you look like a terrorist :P
wow do they really caution you?
perhaps they should cover them up with cloth, like the victorians did with queen anne table legs.
no :(
i looked like a well-turned out art student :(
and my friend is the most innocent looking girl of all time.
our manner suggested nothing but decorum and the ladylike pursuit of fine art.
Are they private roads then?
Why do they build prominant tall bold buildings and then go all coy?
maybe they don't like to flash their penises too much!
...
I'm going to cycle around, maybe go for lunch with a friend, and visit Bella in her new place of employment, a nut deli. I can't wait for the mushroom icecream. My head hurts a little.
I'm having lunch with my friend, he's bipolar.
I think that means he can sex boy bears and girl bears.
what if they are called mohammed?
That's fine too, as long as you dress like this.....
hott

i'm hungover
and working at 9 tonight.
therefore, a day in bed beckons.
dull.
akron family tomorrow though!!!!!!!!!11111!!1111!!!!1!!!!
Doing some homework
Laughing at the rap graphs
eating some nice food
work at 6, then an event afterwards which is categorically NOT a party
Ooooooh! Is it a 'Gathering'?
.
Haha!
It actually fucking is. That was the exact word used, followed by "NOT A PARTY!".
Though it'll be about 11 when I get there, with no booze and the same people I see every day anyway. ah well. Better than staying in again.
UPDATE:
I'm going to see a play in 20 minutes. It's about glasgow gang life and it's written in verse. Hopefully itll be good...
I am just about to
go off to Honest Jon's in Portobello and buy some music.
I think maybe some dub reggae, some west african phsycadelia and possibly a lagos comp or two... sweet
that sounds like a great day
...especially the Bon Jovi bit. Mmmmm Bon Jovi.
Anywhoozle, so far I have gone to work (resident coffee bitch/general useful person at vet practice), discovered a new addiction (ZOMG HONEY MOCHAS) and tried and failed to straighten my hair. Now I'm gonna write an essay about the failings of the ontological proof for the existence of God, and another one about modern Italian literature (fun times, no?) then go watch my friend make a fool of herself in a musical XD
i just realised it's saturday not sunday!
riiight need to do something. after lunch. something good.
i am
currently sat down dressed as St. George. I'm off on the 'otley run' which is basically a long pub crawl in the headingley area of leeds, where everybody gets dressed up. not many people make it past 9pm. in our group we've got a cow, st goerge, batman, flash gordon, 'where's wally and a load of cavegirls. can't wait for the pictures..
it was tipping down a bit earlier
you'll get it soon.
I'm having a really early Christmas. Turkey and all that shizzle then a christmas parrrrrty, anyone want to come?
yeah, clouds are out now
damn!
:(
I got rained on.
