Times New Roman is just so up itself. It's all like "Look at me! I have serifs! You could probably find me in some mansion in a 19th Century novel!" FUCK OFF.
What the fuck's Rome got to do with it? Times *New* Roman as well. What are they trying to say? That we live in new Roman times? That the Roman Empire's about to make a comeback? How about the British Empire? How about God Save The Fucking Queen Sans? Now *that's* a font I could get behind.
not Word. besides, i used wordperfect, because it was the only thing i had, and then couldnt read anyone else's essay that got emailed to me, because they'd used word, and i had such an old version i couldnt open it. :(
But I worked for a while in a mental health unit, and one GP always used to write referral letters in Comic Sans font. Words like "risk of self-harm" do not belong in such a typeface.
Times New Roman
The default, the best.
Garamond

GARAMOND
Hells yeah.
I liked something called

Times New Roman is just so up itself. It's all like "Look at me! I have serifs! You could probably find me in some mansion in a 19th Century novel!" FUCK OFF.
And why "Roman", anyway?

'Roman' because it comes from Roman carved letterforms
with serifs and varying stroke thickness. Like the stuff they carved latin into the sides of temples with.

Clarendon Black
The sexiest font in the univvvverse
I personally love
... futura. As does film-maker Wes Anderson:

Wow
How interesting. I wish I has noticed that.
German Bold Itallic (named after the obscure Kylie track
she once produced back in the late 90s... when I thought she actually had 'cool' factor going)...

For a long while it was Trebuchet, though, and before that: Century Gothic. Before that 'Mondine'.

But I worked for a while in a mental health unit, and one GP always used to write referral letters in Comic Sans font. Words like "risk of self-harm" do not belong in such a typeface.
Yeah, I've mentioned this before :D
I think they all do it - you know, in case the harshness of Arial or Times New Roman is enough to send you over the edge.
Palatino Linotype.

Got a soft spot for Bodoni MT and Sylfaen is very pretty :)
All my work stuff is Arial size 10, can't stand Times New Roman or Comic bloody Sans.
NATIVE

tahooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooma
.
1. Trade Gothic Bold Condensed
2. Aharoni
3. Futura
sans serif ftw
I can't stand...
..Times New Roman
Mrs Eaves is my favorite Serif font
(or Baskerville(which Mrs Eaves is a derivative of) .
Helvetica is my favorite Sans Serif
I do have a soft spot for good old Gil Sans too.
It's always good to have one of each.
...
Bank Gothic, and whatever the new Microsoft Office default is - much better than Times New Bullcrap. Serifs can kiss my black ass.
..
Courier New
Just the three
Calibri, Cambria and I've always had a soft spot for Franklin Gothic Medium.
The first two work well togther for bodies and titles respectively.
georgia
and palatino linotype.
i have something of an irrational hatred for courier.
georgia
or garmond
Tahoma
Or Verdana.
I use century gothic a lot
usually I tend to favour serif fonts though.
