Cheers!

if you can wait until monday
and send the mpeg file to me, i could POSSIBLY do it for you at college. i'm not sure if they have mp3 encoding though.
other then that i'm not sure. i'm sure there's a way though.
cheers
although it's 7 files I'm trying to convert! It'll probably be a lot of effort for you because they're quite big files so I'll see if I can get it done any other way before I ask you to do it for me. Thanks though!
no worries
just pm me if you need me.
i need you
oh baby.
download.com
get free sound recorder
or if it's off a video on the internet you can use websites to do it by searching for something like convert youtube videos to mp3 free
right
I've downloaded this but have no clue how to use it. Basically I have these mpeg video files on my computer, and I want to extract the sound from them as mp3 files...

I haven't tried any of these, but
http://www.download.com/3120-20_4-0.html?tag=fil&qt=mpeg+to+mp3&sort=&operatingSystems=&licenseType=49&fileSize=&ca=
with the sound recorder just press record and let it play.
Or you could upload it to youtube and use one of the websites.
yes
the first link on that page worked. Thanks :D
Total Video Converter
does this I think, it's probably on download.com.
...
If you put the video into Windows Movie Maker then you can unlink the audio from the video then just delete the video channel. If you then just save it as a movie file this will leave you with just the audio. It will be.wma though, you can download a program called switch to conert it to .mp3. Here's a link for it.

Hope that helps.

Freecorder
is the easiest to use. It becomes part of the toolbar and you can hit record and stop for whatever sounds are happening when you are using that particular browser.
