We have the retrospective thread, so how about one looking foward instead. For the sake of brevity lets limit ourselves to 3 or 4 points

- Get onto a PGCE course, although I'm getting nervous about this as I seem to be the only person I know who applied and is yet to hear owt back
- Find somewhere OK to live in London with some friends. I'm fucking sick of lodging
- Make more friends in London and make sure I keep hold of the ones I've already got

I hope for the sake of your self esteem you are currently 29

Quit smoking
Get back in shape
Start writing again

though I remember

quitting smoking was on this years list and now I smoke more

....

new job
new flat

255

leave my job in some capacity, if to go elsewhere doing something similar or something better, or to study or to work part time doing something i want to do.

go to some fun places - san francisco, la maybe, new york, maybe somewhere in canada again.

make next year's STA alldayer the best thing we've ever done, and avoid the cockups that killed this year's event.

whoop whoop!

-Quit smoking

-Quit smoking
-Get better friends
-Quit smoking

2008: What the fuck is going on?

- Start new job, and not be rubbish at it!
- Move to a new place, and make new friends.
- Go and watch football more, I've been totally lame at it in 2007.
- Maybe find myself a girlfriend if I feel like it.

.

- try to push further forward with the music stuff and take further steps towards world domination

- start pushing my writing again and trying to get paid for the odd thing here and there

- find a job I enjoy

- better still, find three or four things that'll bring in a small income so that between them I can live off these and not have a full-time job.

I'd add get a girlfriend to this too

but I wanted to stick within the realm of things I might realistically achieve.

To be controversial..

i. Start smoking
ii. Start drinking
iii. Turn 30
iv. Use more Roman numerals

But then

'Turn XXX' could have all kinds of unforseen recriminations

Quit Smoking

Travel (possibly backpacking)
See My Bloody Valentine play live
Buy a Bulldog
Assassinate Jamie T

1.get a new job

2. pass driving test
3. learn tae kwon do
4. learn to play an instrument
5. move out of parents house
6. drink less

I'm rubbish with this.

Every monday and 1st of every month is when things are going to be perfect from then on, but they never are, and I'm the only person to blame.

I'm usually good with new years though, I get a bit more motivated. I would do a list, but basically every aspect of my life is going to improve. And that'd be a big list.

Get a better job

Spend less money on shite I don't particularly want
Get some sort of a love life
Make more of an effort to meet new people

That's about all, really. Might be an idea to drink a bit less, but let's not run before we can walk.

to leave the house every day

to make some money from selling something improbable
to find an affordable [! haha! hahaha! ho ho. heehee! the hilarity... the japes.] flat in london. [note: hendon DOES NOT COUNT as london.]
to buy more lipstick

find a new flat

start playing mid stakes
go on holiday
learn to drive

my aim for 2008 is

to have a fucking awesome time.

hmmm...

stop smoking........as in actually do it this time

run more

take more pictures

cook more curries from scratch

buy less cd and more vinyl

i have three

1. to have more fun
2. to have more haircuts
3. to quit smoking (really this time)

smoking...

really is quite addictive.

Possibly a house move... I feel restless...

Take lessons in French.
Get my UK citizenship.
Get back into running.
Save money.
Be nicer.
Go and visit family in Oz.
Think about making a move out of London over to Europe (which requires French and UK citizenship).

hopefully

1. Finally write these songs which I feel I should be recording.
2. Learn to drive
3. Go to uni
4. Generally grow up a bit
5. Get a job at a nice place like a stupid deli or coffee shop or something
6. Have hedonistic fun - properly hedonistic, mind. Not just getting really drunk occasionally.

Get a pet isotope

Make her mine (not the isotope).
Finish writing a song. Seriously, just one song. Is that so much to ask? Then maybe record and jag it.
Be regularly published in the music section of the uni newspaper.
Convince whoever the appropriate people to convince are not to chuck me out of uni.
In that order.

Every day give yourself a present?

Be more organised

Listen to my instincts (no more drunk phone calls/desperate thoughts)

Be less of a bitch

Actually decide what I want to do with my life

...not too much to ask?

2008

Apologise less
write my play
Get the play performed
Spend some time in France
Learn how to prioritise

Maybe not in that order.

-Not read shitty

lazy articles about 'detoxing' and the 'new you' etc

BUMP

How is everyone doing so far?

i'm trying to think what i would have said in december..

1. take up smoking
2. stay single for a while
3. make another short film
4. more gigs & music festivals

and the results so far:
1. fail
2. mostly success, though not really out of choice in the end
3. i'm reading scripts now! this won't be likely to get finished in 2008 though.
4. total success!

how did yours go?
