generally. great songs/performance always shines through. shit production doesnt make an album shit. st anger wouldnt be any better if it was well produced.

it sounds as unfriendly, european and nasty as it needs to be. the production on shot by both sides is amazing!

on Car Wash Hair is absolutely brilliant.

Great songs, terribly cliched pyschedelic production. Apparently he wasn't around when the stupid sound effects were put in, so its not his fault.

i came here to say the same thing. The drums (especially the snare) sounds like its just a binbag filled with tin cans.

suffers from the worst, muddiest mix of any album I've heard.

Maybe it was produced in a more understated way, but I think it actually works quite well. I prefer it to The Fall of Math which at times sounds over-produced, although Hole is amazing and the band still shines through overall.

It was such a disappointment after the early singles on Fast Records.

there are some odd mixing choices on that record. however it is more 'experimental' than a straight up rock record.

Spiderland however is completely marvellous by comparison

If it didn't sound as dirty and stuff it wouldn't be the same, a clean-sounding Daydream Nation where all snare sounds and stuff really leaped out of the mix would just not work anywhere like as well.

Yeah, but I don;t think it's thew production as such it's the levels which you notice if puttin tape on equaliser

I've got the one that Iggy remastered as apparently loads of people were coming up to him asking if he would re-master but all the controls are firmly in the red so unsure as I think there's 1 or 2 versions

But you can turn down and some stuff like solo on 'I need somebody' sound ace with the 'everything in red' and to the max
