Got news? Email us at newsdesk@drownedinsound.com for back slaps and a credit...

you know

i might never listen to the lcd album, just to spite myself.

do it

im 99% sure its shite

I reckon

Dis are running scared as HMV have got 7 of the DIS list top list in theirs!

In at 47!

Whoop

has anyone realised that

HMV 'radio' constantly uses the phrase "drowned in sound" on its instore voice-overs?

is there a copyright issue here?

so....

no Modest Mouse.

hahahaha.

everyone = tard

that would be true if it weren't for the fact

that the modest mouse album is completely forgettable.

Forgettable?

Forgettable?!

Modest Mouse = album of the year. I'm disappointed more people don't love it.

That *would* be

a good title for a Feist B-sides album.

Tbh

The LCD album is very good, but I'm really surprised how it's made to the number one slot on so many lists...I mean c'mon, it's not _that_ good is it?

The MIA album at number two aswell? My god is that an overrated pile of shite.

And did they just run out of albums? Because The Chemical Brothers album one of the best of the year? What?

^ True, I missed that one!

The bunch of piss kidneys

The most exciting thing about this list...

...was when I misread no. 39 as 'Model Skeletor'.

Dear everyone:

'Boys and girls in america' came out in 2006! Fuck's sake!

Jan 07 here

pretty sure.

I'm extremely surprised

at the quality of their taste! They managed to put DEP and Down in there, and even voted Les Savy Fav higher than DiS! They fell down on a few points though - Fall Out Boy? Jamie T? Mark Ronson? Albums of the year? Really?

And still no fucking Jetplane!

HMV 'radio' constantly uses the phrase "drowned in sound" on its instore voice-overs?

Theres no copyright issue.DiS and HMV are working together..or something.
Go into one of the new HMV stores and you can access DiS via one of their computers.

HA

It's not HMV's taste

They've collated a bunch of critic's lists.

but HMV isnt a single entity

so to say HMV's taste would be wrong anyway.

LCD Soundsystem

I personally think is the most piss poor half assed techno bollox I've ever heard. I think it's mainly Dad's that are buying up this crap and thinking, wow, this is amazing. It's utter tosh.

i'm so disappointed

no one is even acknowledging Clipse.

it is clearly an amazing album.

i wonder if there's

a copyright issue in HMV's blatent holdsteady rip off t-shirts?

maybe b/c it came out last year?

...though your right, it was clearly an amazing album.

Ha ha

Britney higher than Bright Eyes and The Cribs !!!!!

"it's britney, bitch"

!!!!!!!

Where the hell can you buy this in an HMV?

I'm sure it's in there somewhere in a couple of the big stores but having worked there as a temp over Christmas, most of this stuff doesn't even exist to a lot of people.
Oh great, you've got Battles, Panda Bear, Grinderman and Les Savy Fav in your top 20 but WHERE ARE THEY IN YOUR PIECE OF SHIT STORES! Fucking cunts.

Yep...

Listened to that LCD Soundsystem stuff for the third time. Couldn't have been more lackluster (not necessarily true, I've listened to some pretty crap stuff in my lifetime). A big "MEH" to Sound of Silver.

They've given them all

pride of place in Fopp instead by the looks of it (they did buy what was left of Fopp right?)

daleks everywhere

Hmm i heard the Kanye West album was shit

no ERA VULGARIS?

in that case it cant possibly be one of MY favourite albums of the year, that and because of the times. I sit corrected..
