Someone just called up work asking for a refund as the didn't know it was a gay night tonight. Ticketweb doesn't say anything about it being one. Do they have any sort of case? It's a very straight friendly night so should i have just told them to get over it?

No i think its pretty fair

if the fact that it is a gay night has a significant effect on the type of night it is.

No.

That's awful. I've got tickets for a 60s night. If it turns out its actually a gay 60s night, I'll want my money back.

I don't have anything against homosexuals, but you want to dance with babez don't you? Especially since its NYE.

Poor guy.

...

If it's a gay 60s night, wouldn't that involve a bunch of people going around looking for gays to beat the shit out of?

hot cakes

:(

But they obviously can't care too much

If they buy a ticket for argueably the biggest "party night" of the year based on a website saying 'Popstarz - New Years Eve Party'.
But fair enough, i can't do anything about it though.

...

i can understand the guy's point of view. it might be straight-friendly, but it's not the same as a straight club in terms of pulling. every 'mixed' club i have been to, the gay aspect definitely predominates. you're not necessarily homophobic if you don't want to be somewhere with a different / gayer dynamic than you expected. especially on nye of all nights.

(i regularly attend gay-heavy nights, so don't get angry at me!)

...

Saying that though, a good majority of the girls at Popstarz are straight. (I'm guessing this is Popstarz we're talking about from another thread.)

the girls are, yeah

but how can this poor man possibly compete with the beauty of these girls' gay best friends?

yeah thats what i was saying

the fact that it is a gay night goes further than just meaning that gay people will be there. There will be a gayer dynamic there as you said, which may not be his thing. It may not be gay peoples thing either, which means they wouldnt go there, but the fact remains a gay night is likely to be different to a non gay theme night in more than just the people attending.

Yeah,

I'm pretty sure there are some gay people who shudder at the idea of Mika, Scissor Sisters and Right Said Fred on constant rotation.

-never been to a gay club.

...

"gayer dynamic" = "shit music"?

*great music
