...I've also got a signed copy of JEW's 'Bleed American' with the words 'Keep forever, unless you want to exchange it for a JAMC record' written on the inlay.
but I have a treasured Nirvana "Hormoaning" CD Australian Tour edition complete with Oz flag on disc and sleeve.
I also like my first edition Bodycount CD complete with "Cop Killer."
that was limited to like fifteen copies or something, all given out to friends & family except for one which was given away as a prize on a competition through his mailing list. WHICH I WON!
I also have a Muffin Break loyalty card which has been signed by Mike Patton, I'm quite fond of that. And my House Of Low Culture vinyl, because it's beautiful. I tried finding a photo of it on the web but to no avail...
of 40 Kenickie songs. Including their first three self-released tapes:
The Janet Ellis Conspiracy
Return to Shrimp Valley
Uglifiication
And a whole load of demos.
With a handwritten tracklisting.
Given to me by Johnny X.
Only 3 copies in the world exist.
maybe the first arcade fire ep, one of the original self produced ones, signed by win when i met him at their first european gig, plus the little paper program they produced for that show with all the funeral lyrics inside it.
original and brought for me at the time of the original release (cos I is old)
But they got nicked by a freind of a freind who had offered to 'evaluate' my record collection.
So my my most treasured item is 'Treasure' by cocteau twins, because I think its the most beautiful album in the world and the artwork fits it too.
an original mogwai demo tape :) even has a phone number and contact details on it. the sleeves pretty rubbish though, its just printed off a computer and just says 'mogwai-demo'
also i quite like my root album by thurston moore just because its a hoover bag
yup me too. instruments. doepfer modular system, fender mustang and burns bass. the guitars are older than me. i'd like to think they'd rescue ME in a fire if they could.
Surely the speakers can only make music as good as your signal to them is, I hope you spent at least as much money on the original signal source and again on the amplification/modification of that signal.
In terms of signed stuff, Jeremy Warmsley signed my copy of his album when my then band supported him. I have two signed Elle Milano vinyls as well. I also have a snare drum head signed by Omar Hakim but it doesn't mean so much because it was given to me, i.e. I didn't meet him and ask him to sign it.
my Bromheads Jacket 7" What If's + Maybe's single, as to claim it you had to go to a pub in Sheffield, add your designs and colour in the hand-drawn sleeve. Then watch a gig. Only 50 in existence, and I got number 50.
idlewild 'queens of the troubled teens' single (now worthless I guess)
starchildren white 7" (smashing pumpkins in disguise, sounding like drop nineteens)
part of a stripey shirt signed by L7
an article that mentions my band and silversun pickups in the same breath signed by brian sspu
and an artprint that bearsuit gave away with the new album, my friend had a pre-signed one so I drunkenly went to each member and demanded they sign it :D
oh and my fender cyclone, it's a keeper
Edmund Fitzgerald 12". Band i knew a member of, song i loved and it both pretty much got me into the music that i listen to now. LIFE DEFINGING EVENTS ENCAPSULATED IN VINYL. who gives a fuck how much it is worth in monetary terms - she wouldnt even sign it >:(
also a (2001?) halloween split single from Bearsuit and Aqua Vista - wrapped in mummy bandages and on blood red vinyl (I think... I haven't actually openend it)
Sufjan Steven's 'Illinoise' with DC-unapproved Superman on the sleeve - nothing special right now but probably a collector's item in a few years, what with the popularity of that album.
I've got a signed promo copy of
PWEI's 'Dos dedos mis amigos'
...I've also got a signed copy of JEW's 'Bleed American' with the words 'Keep forever, unless you want to exchange it for a JAMC record' written on the inlay.
Limited Edition
Eddie Hazel (guitarist with Funkadelic) CD LP 'Games, Dames, and Guitar Things'. 1 of 1000 pressed. Could fetch a pretty penny on Ebay, I believe.

made friends with me just so they could come round my house and look at it.
I have two objects signed by david bowie in my home studio. I like to think they will emit a magical creative aura and make me as good as him.
i have a CDR of unreleased Chris T-T tracks
that was limited to like fifteen copies or something, all given out to friends & family except for one which was given away as a prize on a competition through his mailing list. WHICH I WON!
i hope you leaked it
if you didn't you're a meanie.

And a whole load of demos.
With a handwritten tracklisting.
Given to me by Johnny X.
Only 3 copies in the world exist.
i'll give you 20p for it

that 20p will come very handy for a deposit on a mansion in bath.

It was my beatles singles
original and brought for me at the time of the original release (cos I is old)
But they got nicked by a freind of a freind who had offered to 'evaluate' my record collection.
So my my most treasured item is 'Treasure' by cocteau twins, because I think its the most beautiful album in the world and the artwork fits it too.
i'll give you 30 euros for it
Treasure
is indeed apt. However, I favour 'Blue Bell Knoll' of all the Cocteau Twin's output.

It's my
fender jaguar (although it needs new pickups, bridge etc.)
I'll always remember the day I got it.
Brings tears to my eyes.

yup me too. instruments. doepfer modular system, fender mustang and burns bass. the guitars are older than me. i'd like to think they'd rescue ME in a fire if they could.
My copy of Alligator by The National
my massive speakers
because they cost me a lot and make music sound amazing.
I'm going for something different
and pretty common as it stands. My Devo action figures with interchangable heads!
hmm something doesnt ring quite right about that
Surely the speakers can only make music as good as your signal to them is, I hope you spent at least as much money on the original signal source and again on the amplification/modification of that signal.
(I do have underlying geekish tendancies)
I have good separates and leads too
but the speakers allow me use the amp properly and fill the room with sound which you wouldn't get from diddy speakers
why do people ^
post comments like that? Is it oneupmanship?
no I realise it is a character fault
it is an underlying geekishness, caused from being too influenced by extreme audiophiles at an early age
SIGNED McFLY-FIVE COLOURS IN HER HAIR 7"!!!!
ill give you 12 pounds for it
.
Firstly, my drum kit.
Secondly, my PA.
Probably for the memories -
my Bromheads Jacket 7" What If's + Maybe's single, as to claim it you had to go to a pub in Sheffield, add your designs and colour in the hand-drawn sleeve. Then watch a gig. Only 50 in existence, and I got number 50.
I've got plenty of setlists
But my favourite has to be the one from my first Borderline show from Spoon. Handwritten on yellow A4. Neyesch.
A signed Jap import of Toys for boys from Marions Bath comeback show. Absolutely priceless to me.
A copy of Stained
signed up by all the members of Living Colour. Although no muzz skillings, as he'd left by then sadly.

My Bloody Valentine vinyl Glider EP - I was advised to by it by a (cool) friend, heard 'Soon' and was completely blown away.
I Have
a bloc party demo cd that i'm sure would go for a bit on e-bay, bought off the guitarist after their metro show just before they got signed.
And the setlist from gang of fours first gig in like 20 years, at the montague arms in new cross. an excellent gig by the way.

Nothing amazing, just a few nice bits and pieces...
Mansun's 'Wide Open Space', both singles in the fold-out package which is one of the most sought-after singles of the 90s.
Bush's 'Machine Head' ltd edition numbered single with the metal inlay.
A number of Uresei Yatsura albums and singles signed by the band.
Thurston Moore's 'Root' in a vacuum cleaner bag, only 2000 of which exist (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Root_%28album%29)
Sufjan Steven's 'Illinoise' with DC-unapproved Superman on the sleeve - nothing special right now but probably a collector's item in a few years, what with the popularity of that album.
