Morning,

Its just after half eight and I'm on my third cup of tea (one for breakfast, 2 at work). I reckon by the time I'm finished I will have gone through at least 7 cups of tea. Too much? How many do you drink in a day?

Tea is for the weak

1 coffee at 9am

and 1 tea at 2.30pm. Then a tea when I get in from work and one about 9.30pm.

one

coffee around 8ish and one tea around 2ish.

When I was

Working last summer, I was easily having 6-8 cups of tea a day. We had one of those little machines - coupla buttons, 30 seconds and hot (not too bad tasting) tea was yours

For free

I did take advantage somewhat... But also tended to get a bit hyper once I'd hit 5...

there is no feasible limit.

i drink between 3-10.

2

One at breakfast, one at about 3. I'd like more but with this new job I have to go outside and walk across to the main building to get tea, its just too cold for that

I'll have no more than 2

I'll spend all day pissing otherwise

But feasibly?

I imagine you'd easily get into double figures before feeling ill

Depends

After 5 or 6 cups of hot very sugary tea, and a rather nasty argument with the boyfriend, I was a jittering mess and no use to anybody!

And I maintain if it hadn't been for the sugar/adrenaline(?) I would have been ok...

easy answer;

less/no sugar!

i used to have like maybe 7 or 8 when i worked somewhere with one of those buttony machines and then about 5 a day when this girl offered to make one quite often but now not so many. i'm a lazy momo these days.

I try not to have more than 5

teapots per day.

oh, in a working day.

Er....probaby about 6, which is about the same number I have when I get home.

i used to have

a coffee, cigarette and occassionally chocolate. i would sit down and think, this is like phoning up a heart attack and inviting him round to your chest for a party. it was very nice though

None

Ever. Couple of litres of water instead.

I could feasibly drink around 20

in reality I'll have one at most

Actually this reminds me

PG Tips made limited edition 'cafetiere tea'. I emptied the whole packet into the cafetiere, and none of my housemates would drink any of it, so I drank the lot. You CAN drink too much tea, and it absolutely fucks you up. For about twenty minutes.

I walked to the shops and nearly fell over cos I was so dizzy!

This was back in the days when my diet consisted of 'some houmous'.

twenty minutes?

that's nothing, i once drank something that did me bad things for up to 25 minutes

I suppose reasonably comfortably

I could have one an hour at work, plus my breakfast and 2-3 in evening, so 10 or so. I wouldn't though, as I'd be a bit bored of tea, and that'd be a shame.

I like to mix it up a bit - green tea after lunch, someeimes a mint tea if it fits, these styupid infusions things are handy if i want to wet my gizzard, but don't feel the need for tea.

I always come back to the daddy of hot bevvies though. Generally made from Clipper tea.

6 or so I guess

I just piss all the time if I have any more though.

a cup of bovril

is a definite on a winters day (laced with black pepper of course)

monday to friday

i definitely get through double figures tea

1 breakfast
2 morning
1 lunch
3 afternoon
1 get in
2 in evening

at the weekend i swap tea for gin

i used to drink far too many

especially given my mugs are made for giants.

now i have two or three big (2½ * a normal cup) mugs in the morning

some green tea in the afternoon

and rooibos in the evening.

probably 10 normal cups i guess.

oh and rich

you'll have to see the new teapot i bought for the flat collection, it claims it can fill 10 cups! and takes more than one kettleful of water to fill!

it's a beast of a teapot

I may knit a tea cosy for it...

a breast for a beast

Hmm I'm still not convinced by the breast tea cosy plan. I'd rather go with a more classic design.

do two

a classy one for when we have company, and a strange one for the japes.

I'm still not sure

if my knitting abilities stretch to one tea cosy, let alone two.

How do you know that company wouldn't prefer the breast, though? I'm sure Rich would.

Non-Caff?

Are they de-caff tea bags? I hope so, otherwise yer up all night!

Coffee for me....

about 4/5 cups a day, depending on the night before!

update

10:01

5 cups

I'm stopping for a while.

drink some water

Water Schmater

I'm having a pint of red bull.

I'd feel ill after that many.

Two or three all day is my limit.

you poof

how will you survive a tequila in the eye?

I'm back on herbal teas, so rooibosch it is... which has no caffine in it.. and tastes LOVERLY.

...

You are in danger of dehydrating yourself, dude. Stay off the tea. Very bad.

^^^This^^^

Roobois and honey, roobois and vanilla or cherry and cinammon.

You can't dehydrate yourself with tea or coffee

unless the coffee's exceptionally strong. The net intake of liquid is greater than the diuretic effect.

Having said that, rooijbosch is lovely stuff, especially the masala chai version (courtesy of dragonfly, quickly becoming my favourite non-black-tea tea provider)

coffee

is king!

Just remembered a housemate I once had

He used to make tea by the pint or occasionally even litre. And he'd happily drink five or six of those a day.

apparently

i can't remember, obv, but when i was one i would insist on a pint of tea every morning: two of those sippy cups full of hot milk with teabag dunked in. my love for tea continues unabated, i can easily do 8 cups a day.

stop press!

10.32 and i've not had any tea at work yet today! Unprecedented. Having read this thread though I think I'm now going to crumble and make a brew...

Go!

Go now! I'm 5 ahead of you!

Whilst watching around 4-5 hours of continuous Attenborough

my friend and I managed four large teapots between us.

green tea is nice

keeps your breath fresh. Coffee makes breath rank

Oooh numbers

so far today
1 girl 2 cups

about six

0.

i never drink tea.

you have issues

i couldn't hack more than 6

4 at work and 1 either side at home. otherwise i'd constantly be on the bog having hallucinations.

I have 1 or 2 Earl Grey teas normally

I have a coffee to start the day and one at lunch. PROPER coffee, the strength 5 stuff, filtered nicely, mind.

I hate my job

drinking lots of tea increases work evasion time two fold. First the time taken to make the tea, then the increased need to walk all the way to the toilets and back.

Combine this with DiS access, its nearly home time before you know it.

I've wasted my life.
