mine would have to be funny games, brilliant but one of the few films that after i watched, i just sat there for half an hour thinking about it.
also switchblade romance is pretty messed up.

Midnight Cowboy

Gigli

good call

has some very amusing moments though

that

Bring it On one last night made me ask some serious question about my life.

wtf?

Bring it On is a classic example of a decent teen film.

not so much the sequels, of which there are three.

I know...

i was just wondering why i never took up cheerleading

Requiem for a dream

Is brilliant but the last 15 mins made me dizzy and sick!

^^^^^^^

This. I make sure I never watch it unless I'm in THE best of modds or I have something happy to watch/do staright afterwards.

*moods

.

True

The ending is a bit much but it did fuck with my mood for a day or two after

i was on a first date with a girl once

and i recommended watching this. the last 15 minutes were some of the most awkward of my life.

Dumplings

A japanese film where she makes dumplings from aborted foetuses and they make you younger.
Only the japanese...

does it work?

Yes

Saying that i dont think it was actually japanese. Hong Kong maybe, that sort of area.

Really, really weird film though, and quite graphic

it's a great film

really well made and visually amazing. i saw it as part of 3 extremes, all of which are great films. wasn't as weirded out by the foetuses as i should have been but the next time i had dim sum i just couldn't actually face any dumplings!

Yeah it's from Hong Kong - by Fruit Chan

Hard Candy was difficult to watch

but the first time I saw Requiem for a dream it scard the hell out of mee cause I was doing a lot of drugs at the time (not herion mind) and bits of it really hit home

Cube

the ending did my head in.

what happens at the end again?

i watched that film on my own at 2am in my dads place in france. BAD idea

Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer

but I was in a weird frame of mind at the time I watched it...

Irreversible

The first half of this film is incredibly difficult to watch. Other worthy mentions...

Visitor Q- father/duaghter sex? WRONG.

Mermaid In A Manhole- just plain sick

Mysterious Skin- only for the man-rape bit.

^ yeah!

yup i was going to say irreversible. it was difficult to watch, but that was the point i guess. looooads of people walked out of the cinema during the film and they only ran it for a week. it's one of my favourite films of all time though.. amazing! best "ending" too.. i sat there in the cinema with my mouth wide open in awe. i'm a geek.

Me too

When the film ended I thought 'Ah I'd love to be there....wait, no, I wouldn't, God no...'. Most of my favourite films have been really hard work.

Was waiting for a Guinea pig film mention

They're probably considered a bit tame nowadays.

I mentioned one!

Mermaid In A Manhole. It's gross.

I know!

Is it one of the "snuff" ones?
Charlie Sheen saw one of those and reported it to the FBI or something, the retard.

Good special effects. Awful films

The snuff one is

Flowers of Flesh and Blood

Brazil

always depresses me

yeah requiem for a dream is

brilliant, jared leto's perfomance is great, but i always feel it's not quite trainspotting.
havn't seen dumplings but i've heard it's pretty rough. also i forgot ichi the killer.

^ this

ichi the killer appalled me, so i don't watch anything rank anymore. i can't handle it.

Ichi The Killer

when that guys face slides down the wall :D! And also when he's falling to his death and he shouts something along the lines of "This is so fun"

Requiem For A Dream...another very disturbing film, but I love it. So amazing.

^This^

I haven't seen many of the other "disturbing films" mentioned, but I've seen this and, while it was brilliant, the ending caught me the fuck off guard.

Yeah

I never saw the ending coming!

Pearl Harbor

Irreversible

stayed with me a long time.

Requiem for a Dream also...

bad boy bubby

and little man
also dancer in the dark
and the idiots

gummo

but in a good way

oh god

i forgot about gummo - completely with you on that one. That blonde girl still freaks me out in my dreams.

it certainly disturbed me

but I did indeed hate it.

irreversible

made me feel pretty ill

Lolita

Eh?

Both versions are just a bit lame and dull.

Baise Moi

I bought it because a guy I interviewed at the BBFC for a friend's uni documentary told me it was and I quote verbatim "The French Pulp Fiction".

I sat down to watch it with my friend. We very nearly gave up after the rape scene, but somehow made it to the end. I didn't feel very well after

i HATED baise moi

basically porn masquerading as an arty film with no plot or merit at all.

All the more disturbing when I found out that

the main actress in it (I know there are two, but I forget how to distinguish them), committed suicide shortly thereafter.

Incidentally the director was an ex porn actress and most fo the cast were pron actors (including the main characters), so there'a probably a good reason for it appearing like a skin flick.

yeah

it's fucking awful.

So bad on so many levels

yeah

baise moi was pretty grim

Baise Moi was rediculous

i only bought it because it was three pounds and was advertised as "the most shocking film you'll ever see (legally)"

It was shit, although the french rap soundtrack was a laff, and the fact my ex admited to geting a boner during the rape scene....

old boy

was fairly discturbing, and I completely agree with Funny Games - discturbing but I loved it. The Idiots was disturbing for different reasons

^

i (perhaps wrongly) craved & ate dumplings after seeing oldboy. yummy.

I saw IT when I was quite young

and that freaked me out. Watched it again recently. I'm ashamed that I used to be afraid of that film.

the great ecstacy of robert carmichael

is easily by a country mile the most disturbing thing i have ever seen. anyone seen it? if you haven't then watch it and tell me im wrong (its got danny dyer in too!)

Hostel

just disgusting, I don't understand why it's entertaining.

i love Hostel

I thought it was laughable

and not disturbing in the slightest

I agree it is utter shit though.

stupid backpackers being tortured and mutilated to death

nice scenery

what's not to like?

have you seen Hostel 2

I thought that one was a big improvement. Pacier, funnier script (relative) and had a bit more going on.

are you joking?

Hostel 2 is absolute rubbish - boring, derivative and with the most stupid twist of all time

No

they are both pretty terrible films but I enjoyed Hostel 2 a lot more. I recall it also got better reviews at the time of release which is what made me give it a go after the utter shit of 1.

press reviews?

Maybe I just follow the Guardian too slavishly but they gave it a decent review as did another couple of papers.
Either way I don't actually care.

my dad keeps going on about

how brilliant Hostel is. Still haven't watched it. I heard there was something about an eye being removed and that put me off. Plus, my dad has a terrible taste in films - he thinks Ballistic is good.

the eye scene

is incredibly bad. The special effects are worse than any low-budget gore film I've seen.

Hate Hostel...

This wave of torture films like Hostel and Saw, etc... I look around at people in the cinema before the film begins thinking, i know this is so shit and disgusting and why i am i here with all these people watching this? Some kind of sick perversion people get off on or something, i dont know.

The Woodsman

but it was a good kind of disturbing. Very thoughht provoking

The Piano Teacher

'Why. The hell. Is she doing THAT?'

the piano teacher

is fucked up.forgot about that.still not made it to the end

Wasnt that disturbing...

"I want you to sit on my face and punch me in the stomach so my tongue goes up your arsehole"
(or something along those lines. )

that thing blaast linked to a few weeks ago

but it serves me right for watching the whole thing.
I'm a bit surprised that nobody is mentioning the really infamous stuff, probably have better taste.

several

good call on 'bad boy bubba' up there somewhere ^

also 'The Vanishing' (the original) (so downbeat and without hope)

Also 'Henry Portrait of a serial killer' (like cc said)

'Johnny got his gun' was the most difficult film to watch though.

keane

has anyone seen it?my girlfriend walked out

vulgar.

any film with clown rape in it is automatically fucked up in my book.

what keane?

Yeah

I bought this for my dad for his birthday. Made for one night's uncomfortable viewing. I wouldn't watch it again.

bravo were showing a run of troma films

when i was a teenager.
titles included:
tromeo & juliet
surf nazis must dies
and my personal fave, stuff stephanie in the incinerator, which had more twists than a bowl of fusili pasta.

My boss

was an actress in Surf Nazis Must Die. True story.

that is actually quite awesome

whats her name so i can look her up on imdb?

surf nazis must die

is one of fave films ever, its tres ridiculous

i really love

the way theyve used the same explosion in nearly everyone one of their films !

hmm

The King - very unpleasant
straw dogs
deliverance
Betty Blue - the character herself more than the whole film
peeping tom which i love but the creepy voice of the killer landlord and the overall plot is disturbing

Baise - Moi is just very uncomfortable, unwatchable and amateurish.

all in nothing i've ever seen has been that disturbing.

straw dogs

yep

I thought

Ichi the Killer was pretty tough going.

Videodrome also freaked me out as well but it was ages ago that I watched it so i'm not sure it would now.

uch

ichi the killer was sooo fucking dull. lots of really pointless violence that was almost cartoonlike. i was expecting much much more
