Test Icicles

About two years on from their split, what's the verdict on them?

Personally, having witnessed their last ever gig at Astoria, I'm still wholly in love, and they seem to grow on me with every listen, which is very peculiar. Naked Babes were properly good for a band who made all their songs in 5 hours too.

Yeah

I love them too
even if they didn't

I didn't understand the fascination

and i still don't now in any way whatsoever.

i got told dev

liked my music so i have no problems with them lol

Love Love Love

I got chucked out of their last gig in Nottingham for being underage!

We was talking about them yesterday, hooray!

I don't have their album anymore since my hard drive crashed, but they still rule.

'what's yr damage'

i don't think i'll ever tire of that song. i doubt i would still like test icicles if they were about to release their 3rd album.

I thought they were mediocre

never saw them live

it's better now, KASMS are pretty promising and Lightspeed was rather spiffy live the other day.

Oui

Lightspeed Champion supported Bright Eyes last year when I saw Oberst et al and I was mighty impressed, even if it was a stripped down set due to traffic and just for the song the went something along the lines of "Fuck off you bitch". It resonated with me pretty well at the time haha.

He played that song

when I saw him support Patrick Wolf at the end of Nov.

It makes me very very sad when I think

had I been five years old, I would have been living in London on the cusp of being 18, in the epicentre of the whole Test Icicles/Snow White/The Libertines/Les Incompetents/Selfish Cunt/Special Needs/Clor artynoisyindie explosion, all of whom are now deceased. Dammit all to hell.

I think you'd have been too young to get in...

Also, Selfish Cunt? Snow White? Really? I'm glad I missed that era out.

My ex-girlfriend took me to the last Test Icicles gig. It was fun for about two songs until you realised that they're basically miming to some really lame backing tracks.

Oh hush,

five years *older

yeah

if by miming you mean playing guitar and singing

Common confusion.

Or not. From the clips I've seen of it, seems like it was rather amaze.

libertines were

a few years before test icicles.

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE

one of my favourite bands in the world.

They were good

They were good... Not great or genius I think, but they had some really good songs. Pull The Lever was their best in my opinion, Circle. Square. Triangle and Catch It! were also among my favorite ones. A good band.

I quite liked them

Some of their songs were shit, some were good. I never cared about whether or not they were supposed to be a joke

...

Don't like the lyrics but the delivery renders them inaudible anyway. I like them. Birra fun innit.

One of the worst bands of all time.

I saw them live and I just thought, what the hell is this, I was genuinely shocked at how bad they were.
Also why did they act like such cocks.

The lead guy who isn't the lightspeed person shouted out, "we fucking love Nirvana", so I blame Nirvana for their existence. Considering I very much dislike Nirvana anyway this is a good thing.

They probably were a bit of a joke band, I meen could they seriously be anything else.

i only discovered them in the last few months

and i think they're awesome.

I'm willing to admit

that they had a couple of decent songs, but they annoyed the hell out of me. Total myspace band.

'total myspace band'

whys that such a terrible thing..
if the musics good.
which it was.

i saw them at

the night and day cafe in manchester and it was really good, id never heard them before ,just heard 'of' them and got dragged along by my gf of the time. we stole some t-shirts too hehe

I liked them.

Not very good live though.
