really is a fantastic album. I think I prefer it to Elephant Eyelash. My favourite bit's where he breaks into proper singing on 'Simeon's Dilemma'and it all goes a bit 80s-soft-rock...
good, and it's had the added bonus of making me dig Elephant Eyelash out for a listen again, and I'd forgotten exactly how brilliant that is too. Why Why? aren't unbelievably popular is beyond me.
I have had a chance to listen to it a good few times now and it is definitely becoming wonderful to my ears. I think musically it isn't leaps and bounds forwards but a strange amalgamation of the sound of their previous records. The more down-beat instrumental parts I think Oaklandazulasylum and first cLOUDDEAD lp, the pop backbone sounds like Elephant Eyelash and the bits that are almost straight up indie hits make me think Sanddollars ep. This said I also agree with the fact you can hear a call back to Hymie's Basement, which is no bad thing.
What's really got me is the development of the lyrical content though. Probably even more so than Elephant Eyelash the personal is pushed to its zenith with certain lines making me initially cringe my face clean off. Mixed with the unexpected rhymes and the constant inclusion of bizarre metaphors and digressions into the abstract it just really works though and comes across as charmingly honest.
:D
Yay
posting here so more people see it.
don't post links to the board. DiS could get in trouble.
thanks! x
link me up
thanks!
It's on
Indietorrents...but you need an account to get it. Check Google, innit.
arse
my indietorrents account got deleted. its a tricky bastard to find on google too!
Nah
I'm gonna wait for this one.
OK
you do that, I'm listening RIGHT NOW. First track - excessive use of the word 'Cheerio'.
I cant wait
I will buy it on cd when it comes out, but i want it now too :) If anyone can lead the way, it would be much appreciated.
I will,
of course buy this when it comes out FOR REAL, YO.
i was getting myself ready for consoling you
my friend's girlfriend had alopecia. very sad it was, too.
should i be ashamed that i've never heard of this band?
Well,
not ashamed...try and get Elephant Eyelash. It's rather good. RATHER.
Never be ashamed !
but Why are truly truly excellent.
oman
i love why? so much, really really listen to Elephant Eyelash.
I'm torn between wanting to download this NOW and being good and waiting. I might be good.
I thought...

it took 1 min 13 secs! 1.8 MB/s!
i got it off
http://www.mybittorrent.com/info/1139532/
and it isnt the album, but just a mixtape that someone's labelled as it, mainly because they are a cunt
It sounds dead good.
Yep
on first listen, it sounds more like a new Hymie's Basement album than a Why? album. Not that that would be a bad thing!
Does anybody fancy uploading it for me or anything?
thanks a lot. kisses.
thank you you beautiful people.
HOME TAPING IS KILLING MUSIC.
gx
4 tracks in
and... it's good, but it's all a bit miserable compared to Elephant Eyelash, isn't it?
This is great
I found Elephant Eyelash a little too lo fi for my tastes. This sounds darker, and more depth of production.
The Hollows is a tune.
AGH
where can I find this sans-torrent?
Anyone else
not quite yet blown away, but are too afraid to think/say it?
me...
up to the third listen, and it's grown on me loads. The middle half (5 to 11 or 12) is where it's at. Still, not a patch on Elephant Eyelash.
and
I stand by my zero-reply thread of a few days ago that a lot of it sounds like They Might Be Giants in a bad mood...
Why? covering
'Ana Ng' would be absolutely amazing.
yeah...
Been waiting for this way too much though. I can't see it ever beating elephant eyelashes though :(
anyone? link?

hmm
The Cure cover they recently did is awesome
so's
this album. If it had come out a month ago it'd have been in my top 3 albums of the year i think. I've not stopped listening to it since I got it...
in desperate need
So Why? is only my favorite band and I made an account on this site just to get this album. PLEASE help me out and tell me where I can get it. PLEASE!
The best yet?

This album is a massive grower
get excited, it's absolutely brilliant.

this!
I haven't heard
this album yet, but have just pre-ordered it from HMV now, so am looking forward to it.
Incidentally, is the Sanddollars ep any good- does anybody particularly recommend it? ta.
It's awesome!
it's actually my favourite thing he's done. Mutant John is a CHOON.
