GOD that's dull.

The best live band category is especially shit.
Big gig does not = Good gig.

What a terrible terrible list

they usualy have like the odd thing I agree with, thbe NME worst album list does seem like a typical trend 'We just cant like it, its not cool' type list...

Every year I get more and more annoyed

at the 'worst album' category.

Every year I get more and more annoyed

at the 'worst album' category.

Every year I get more and more annoyed

at the 'worst album' category.

I think

I've broken the internet. This isn't even on purpose.

^really annoyed.

personally

i'm surprised the ting tings don't get a mention anywhere..

The Cribs have three nominations

Did I miss a meeting?

i bet

radiohead wont win best album.
and they'll lose to the enemy or something.
i really hate nme

i'm glad i

didn't waste half an hour of my life filling out a form in order to have precisely zero impact.

dis awards

anyone?
The only way to tell the difference between the years on these and the brits nominations is to spot the novelty 'top act', this years being joe lean and the jing jang jong.

I forgot Hero Of The Year

Matt Bellamy
Pete Doherty
Noel Fielding
Ryan Jarman
Thom Yorke

There's no words

So Julian Barrett plays no part in the Mighty Boosh any more?

Yorke, obviously.

But NOEL FIELDING? He doesent even write the music in the mighty boosh. His entire character in that is a pastiche of an NME reader. WHAT'S GOING ON?!

hang on, I dont care. WHEEEEEEEEE

Do they have

Villain Of The Year anymore?

They usually do...

Too many Morrissey fans voting for Conor McNicholas, perhaps?

Since when have they had the authority to do a "worst album" category?

It's as if they think klaxons album was created with less commercial intent than Blunt's.

isnt it the same as your

no artistic merit award?

you're boring now

Doh

Britney's album is worth 10,000,000 Jack Penates.

^this

yep

truth

WOW

even my gutter-low expectations gave them more credit

Ditto

I always forget how bad these nominations are. Every year.

^this

I don't understand why anyone would think they are good. Honestly.
Oh well.

I bought Killamangiro

on single in 2004.

It was one of the best songs I'd heard in years. I loved it. Production was perfect.

Then they re-did it when Doherty got famous and now, I agree with you.

i'd agree with that

Pat Walden made Babyshambles, for me. When he left they went to shit. 'The Man Who Came To Stay' is probably as good a track as i've heard, but for every one of them there's an 'I Wish', or a butchering of good demo's like 'Unstookietitled' or 'There She Goes'.

NME in

'award nominations to help further the publication of artists they have a vested interest in' shocker.

I mean come on, we all know the NME awards are just an extension of their front cover. It's not even worth getting remotely irritated about!

it is when you consider

that they are the only publication who have any real influence on the 'buying public' anymore.

i like how

the worst album bit is as much as ever an obvious attempt at saying massively commercial albums aren't cool, while artists like Artic Monkeys sold about ten times as much as the rest of them on a much more intense marketing campaign and Babyshambles only sell anymore because Pete is publicised in red tops all the fucking time.

Remember when Mark E Smith got Godlike Genius? Good times.

...

Is the Leona Lewis or Britney Spears album any worse than say the fuckin' shite that was The Twangs album? Why include albums that are obviously not suited for the readership. Why not include Cliff Richard? Its like when you were five and you said "Girls are smelly."

Fuckin' NME. What. Is. The. Point?

I dislike every single thing on there with a passion,

apart from Amy Winehouse and Oasis, and the fact The Hoosiers are on thr 'worst' bit.

God its so dull

given this platter of turd, I would opt for:

Best British Band

Muse

Best New Band

Foals

Best International Band

Arcade Fire

Best Live Band

Kaiser Chiefs (I saw them live aaages back so they win off the merit of being the only ones ive actually seen)

Best Album

Radiohead - In Rainbows

Best Solo Artist

FAIL. I seriously cant pick any of these that would be remotely worthy of the title. Okay.... Winehouse..NO! i take it back...

Best Track

The Wombats - Let's Dance To Joy Division

At least it REFERENCES some good songs.

Worst Album

James Blunt - All The Lost Souls
Leona Lewis - Spirit
The Hoosiers - The Trick To Life
Mika - Life In Cartoon Motion
Britney Spears - Blackout

Can they all go in? ALong with the majority of your nominations?

thank you

kindly guys.

I assume the award ceremony invites are in the post...

Well done on getting the sponsored by ... in

It's fgairly pointless to get bothered by them at all, but weren't these originally designed to be an alternative to the brits (the brats). With the exception of a couple of 'novelty' awards they seem to be for the same old crap.

'best band blog'

is anyone really arsed?

I really love

how cliche thbe villian of the year lists are, seriously I can think of far worse people on that list.

And worst bands.... Fall Out Boy? Seriously? As far as pop punk bands go they are one of the better in the mainstream.

Isn't the Teddy Picker video

just the band, in the studio, playing the song?

I don't like..

any of the bands on here...

The list reflects the bands that NME champions.

If you like the NME, you'll probably agree with the bands on it.

Nothing to get anxious about.

sexiest man nomination for this man:

http://m.gmgrd.co.uk/res/479.$plit/C_71_article_1007625_image_list_image_list_item_0_image.jpg

Quite a bad list

Shockwaves lollolololzzzzz

brainfallsoutofheadcentric

But you know the Q list will be almost exactly the same, give or take a paul macartney mercy fuck...

am surprised george lamb and beth ditto aren't more represented.

I'm glad

that I don't take the NME's advice on music or I think I'd be a lot more bored by most of the music I would listened to

villians of the year

politicians on the year - i for one am shocked

ahh the nme- how satirical they are

deffo

got the enemys and britneys albums mixed up.

I've only knowingly heard

1 of the 5 "best tracks" - am I missing out?

So Doherty is a hero?

For...not going to prison?
And yet Wino is a villain?

Does. not. compute.

If the best/worst things people have achieved this year is getting in the 3am pages of the mirror....No, I dont get it.

only 4ish women

blahblahblahhhhhhhh
