Government Commissions - New paths to helicon Pt 1. GO!

dont we have this thread about twice a week?

i say rock action, but you will get as many different answers as there is mogwai albums

government commissions

without a shadow of a doubt.
it's like a greatest hits but with all the songs sounding much better than the album versions!
especially new paths to helicon pt 1 on that cd. my lord.

two recommendations out of four

this wins. I'm off to buy it now!

Young Team

...a few minutes into Like Herod you'll know why... (and your speakers may explode)
their early EPs are all really good too, think there's an album that compiles them all somewhere.

yep,

it's called ept+6 I think. Very good place to start

This again

Don't listen to anyone else, Kicking a Dead Pig is the perfect introduction to Mogwai. Buy it.

This thread

is now twice weekly.

Young Team

Probably

Spiderland

Slint

You could start with any of them really

apart from maybe Mr Beast.

I reckon Mr beast

is a really good place to start as it is the most accessable (that can't be spelt right), without being really shit.

I likes it. The last two in fact are the only two that sound like albums too, rather than an EP with some filler noises.

Now, who wants to play who has seen Mogwai the most times? I start at a pathetic fanboy 19.

my father

my king

Jesus

I've seen them twelve times and I thought that was excessive!

I really should be at 21

But miss out due to having a mardy girlfriend at reading one year who made me go home before they started, and not bothering to show up to Supersonic last summer.

12?! Pffft, sort yourself out.

well, that was a waste.

I couldn't find anywhere that carried Mogwai (admittedly the only places nearby for getting any music is Asda and HMV). so, I guess I'll just go into town tomorrow and buy every Mogwai album anyone mentioned here

thanks anyway!
