i'm reading some of the comments of people on some threads (yeah, guess which ones) and getting really steamed up, i'm sure it works vice-versa. and we're all just so angry. see, this is what i hate about messageboards, whole bunches of people (and yes, i am as guilty as everyone else here) just get on their pedestal and spout abuse at other people for minor/major infractions to some code i for certain don't know. it's like the playground all over again, except with different matters.

It's because the message board puts everyone on an equal footing. For example, and it's a silly example, if I wanted tax advice, I wouldn't go to the butchers. But on the message board, you could be arguing with the butcher, but not know it's the butcher. An awkwardly worded and 'out there' example, but I think it gets the point across.
The anonymity of the message board gives 'experts' equal say with the idiots, but it's not clear which is which.
This is why, in real life for example, you wouldn't ask a child's opinion on foreign policy, but on here someone like fucktherave (nice dig) gets a platform well above his station.
