new order

what's your

favourite replacements record out of curiosity?

Probably

Let It Be. Obvious choice really but it's popular for a reason. Some days Tim could be up there... and I also have a soft spot for Stink... I think the recent best of (Don't You Know Who I Think I Was?) is pretty ace. Basically, if it's got 'Skyway' on it it's worth owning. I love pretty much everything they've done though.

...

I'm seeing them next week (on Valentine's Day no less)..pretty excited. Big live music weekend and that's the kickstart.

well done

i have them all part from the 'This Is A Pinback CD' one if you want to give me yours that'd be most kind

oh, I'm going to explain each choice (maybe and not in order)

1. Bright Eyes - I adore them (or him, whatever), I really. Lifted is such a gorgeous album. Hit The Switch is my probably my favourite sing.
2. Eve 6 - some pretty crap (well now) pop rock but I adored them when I was 15 so they deserve a mention.
3. Tilly & The Wall - perhaps Bright Eyes with lovely lady singers. But oh well, they're lovely.
4. Death Cab for Cutie - probably the best live band I've seen, they were that good.
5. The Decemberists - Colin Meloy is great. They're great live, great music, great lyrics. Just great.
6. The Shins - I'm not a hater, yeah I got into them on the back of Garden State but who cares?
7. Architecture In Helsinki - because In Case We Die is really THAT good.
8. Rilo Kiley - Jenny Lewis innit.
9. Modest Mouse - c'mon, fell the love, they're so fucking good..
10. Stars - maybe wouldnt have made it until I had seen them live but wow!

Honorary mentions go out to the Guillemots, Los Campesinos!, Eels, LCD Soundsystem, Ben Kweller and The Postal Service.

pretty predictable, but:

1/The Smiths
2/Life Without Buildings
3/The Libertines
4/Joy Division
5/Nirvana
6/The Beatles
7/Sigur Ros
8/The Delfonics
9/Gang Of Four
10/Jonquil

Jonquil!

They are good, but I struggle to understand how someone can place them in their TOP TEN BANDS OF ALL TIME EVER EVER.

I couldn't do a list. I could only pick Fugazi and then I would be lost. They've been the only constant for me over the last seven or eight years.

Off the top of my head, totally.

Animal Collective
Radiohead
The Beatles
Muse
Boards of Canada
Doves
Battles
The Beach Boys

8. Les Sexareenos

That was difficult, a couple of those are based partly on my love for them in the past. To pick a top 10 right now would be silly though, as it would just be whatever I'm listening to at the moment.
