Klaxons and Maximo Park have looked and sounded shit both times I saw them this summer. And I listened to a Maximo Park album which confirmed that in their case. Pigeon Detectives are pretty manky too. And ELO, who seem to be getting some kitsch votes here... they're shit.

I was listening to Variations On Swing just last night in memoriam. What I'm suggesting is if we're building this orthodoxical list of successful/hyped bands who it must follow are rubbish, surely there must be people willing to admit that the bands the board praises just as often as it hates on those others can't be universally popular.

I can sense I'm not going to get far on this.
