I've been listening to Trans-Europe Express religiously this week, but it's the only record of theirs that I own.

Am I right in saying Computer Love is their most accomplished work, and should therefore be purchased next? Any other recommendations of where to go next with Dusseldorf's finest weirdos?

Computer World

you mean. It's in the top 10 albums of all time, in my opinion. Computer Love is my number one song of all time, even if Coldplay almost ruined it for me.

d'oh

Got them mixed up.

Coldplay almost ruined it, you're right. Have you heard Glass Candy's take? It's on B/E/A/T/B/O/X.

Nah

I don't want to hear covers of Kraftwerk songs....

aaaaahhhhh

definitely get Kraftwerk I.. it is the best!! Vom Himmel Hoch is just genius.. the whole thing. get that one too.

i'd say

The Man Machine is my favourite. dont know about best though.

There probably isn't a best

Just people's favourites. All of them are stunning. Computer World, though, is the OK Computer of the 80's :)

yeah

i should not have said 'best'.. i just got too excited

The Man-Machine is my personal favourite

Spacelab! The Robots!

Electric Cafe is a great album too, especially if you like that minimal electro sound.

As they said above, Computer World is amazing too.

another vote for

The Man Machine

Minimum Maximum

Like a best of, with nice, punchy sound that I thought was lacking in their earlier stuff. It does make all their old tunes sound a bit like Tour de France, though.

Aren't the first two albums out of print?

Man Machine

is brilliant.

oh yeah

and find 'La Forme (Hot Chip King of The Mountains Mix)'. its fucking great

I'd say Radio-Activity.

I'm surprised no-one else has suggested it.

I highly rate

Kraftwerk 1 and Ralf and Florian. Can be quite tricky to get hold of but both great. Kraftwerk 1 is worth it for Ruckzuck alone.

Most

defo.

Well

TEE is the best - but there's not much that isn't worth getting. Try The Man Machine or Autobahn, then maybe Computer World and Kraftwerk 2. The rest is good but not exactly indispensible.
