my friends and i shall all be there

my friend Laura-Jo is doing a les savy fav special on her radio show on the night before, to get us all in the mood.

did Los Campesinos pull out?

I have a vague memory of someone telling me this.

I'm going by the way.

I hope

so

they still claim to be playing

on their myspace....
though that isn't definitive.

theyre playing

me

Moi Aussi

it wont be the same without

me there, i dont know why you lot are bothering

Because FOTL are playing

They alone are worth trekking all the way from South London for on a Sunday night.

he should stick to drumming

for okkervil river

haha

i said the same thing about their resemblance to guntrip after the O.R. brighton gig
(before i met j_s at atp) :p

okay

they sound like a drowning poo

You're shit.

me.

I am also having to go by myself because of my cunting friends pulling out AFTER I had purchased my ticket.

:(

You'll still

have an amazing night, I challenge anyone not to enjoy Les Savy Fav live!

or not.

persuasion skillz FTW.

I'm actually looking forward to this much more now :D

me, sally

sarah silverman and matt damon. she's fucking him, y'know.

ME!

Has it sold out yet?

if not, i'll probably go

in fact

I'll definitely go

No it hasn't

I got my ticket today.

Have to collect it though from the box office. They charge you £2.50 for that priviledge; the fuckers...

Listening to the other bands now. I may turn up at 8:30 and aim to miss the first 2 acts.

Maybe a DiS met up is in order, as so many of us are saying "going on my own"?

lets do

the upper street challenge beforehand.

I'm going

you knows it

16 year old girls alerting people on internet

messageboards that they're going alone to gigs

fwjofj

Los Camps are playing yeah, just Im not too fussed. Though having never seen them live maybe theyll win me back over.

I'm there.

I'm taking a girl from work who I'm trying to make fall in love with me. She kissed me after I gave her the Bon Iver record... I'm concerned this may not have the same result. (I'm looking at you, FOTL.)

wait till they play

we'll make a lover of you and move in (too obvious perhaps)

I'm going

Also on my own.

you're never truly on your own

when Tim Harrington's in the room

I'm in.

its my birthday

and i'll dance like a drunken fool if i want to.

Is liking FOTL...

really that bad that we can't get dates / friends / fuck buddies to come with us? Is it the fear of "plague of onces" live maybe?

^^^^ I can't wait for this

and a great day of sports as well.

and other things.

ME!

and my friend who i am dragging along.

cracking good line-up too.

'm going

but I don't know any of you folks.

don't lie

you are my oldest friend.

shall we turn this into a meetup thread?

though LSF gigs on yr own are good, going by the Scala one. Also, Im gonna make a 'fuck the champagne' t-shirt.

they were so

unbeliably amazing at The Scala will be hard for them to top it. I'm sure they'll give it their best though.

I'll make a matching 'we want Gin' one

*

unbelievably

i'm going

amazing line up

So when I first bought a LSF record...

they were mentally loud, unmusical and amazing. I haven't bought anything since, but their myspace page suggests they're a lot more jangly now and "nice"

Whats the deal? And are the supports any cop? Their myspace profiles too suggest maybe not?

Actually...

Ignore the above. Thats what happens when you browse with tabs and the bands you're jumping between start with "Los" and "Les"...

On another note, if you like FOTL then download this off the front page. Its an interview with the band available for free as an mp3, and as its by 2 pretty hardcore fans of their work (and mclusky's), I'd like to think it's got a different angle to it than the usual ones. Spread it about too if its your thang:

you went out with them last night

they've had enough time!!!

it's Mirri's unless she changes her mind.

i

forgot to bring it up in conversation!!

they'll probably just buy tickets anyway (or has it sold out now?)

it is still on sale i think

which is silly.

if jong jong and the jong jang jong were playing it would have sold out, silly people.

i shall be there

cant bloody wait. los camp better not pull out!

me me me

bought my ticket today from the Astoria box office. Fuck you, ticket agencies!

me

hi

I'M GOING

SO IS BAMOS.

It's going to be really cool.

Manchester derby, then Chelsea v Liverpool, then 4 bands, wicked. Yeh.

i'm going to this!

megabus from cardiff-london and back the next day. great days

but DiSers i know will be there

heartbrokenstar
scarecrow
fihiki
klaire
werk
me

me too!

:p

i should probably go...

but not sure if i fancy it on my own :(

go for it

going on your own isn't a big deal (at least I hope not, since I do it all the time) and the line-up is obviously top.

Anyone know what the stage times are? I'm not terribly arsed about seeing Cut Off Your Hands.

LES SAVY FAV O/S 21.05 - 22.15

Are people...

going to a pub nearby to watch the football first? If so, can you recommend one?

I might go to that Sam Smiths just above Oxford St. before the gig. Good way to get drunk very quickly for less than £15

I may also miss the first two bands. According to the material on their myspace pages they're both a bit shit, right?

the angel or the fitzrovia?

they're both top pubs, but the angel edges it cos of the darts.

meeeeeeee

whoop!

im going

can't wait!

*puts hand up*

should be there.

Its gonna be huge

Can't wait

Im reviewing it for Audioscribbler.co.uk

This is the best gig lineup

I've seen all year

My ticket's just arrived this very afternoon

Phew that was close, thought I was going to have to phone up one of those ghastly ticket agencies and shout at them. See you there!

People need to be dancey

I can imagine something might get lost in the Astoria especially if the barrier's up. So, yes DiS get your dancing shoes on!

Come Dan... come...

Jim, Jon and I are going. Though in all honesty, I'm only going for the last 2 bands on.

losers

I do love LSF but WOLVES IN THE FUCKING THRONE ROOM ARE PLAYING ON THE SAME NIGHT so I'm going to that

the Fav are on at 9pm

...or so i've been told

can't wait!

Are you doing anything tomorrow night, Gaz?

Come and see LSF in Bedford.

I have a birthday party to attend

it involves a ceilidh. Obviously I would rather attend this than LSF...

the stage times

are totaly awesome. might be able to intentionaly miss the first two now.

although missing the second one

on purpose would make you a mere husk of a human

^

What are the stage times

I'll be there and I'll be drunk

Why are the bands on so early?

Normally I'd like this on a Sunday evening but trains back to Brighton don't stop until very late it seems and now I've got to get up there quite early.

Bah

I finish work at 6, now I won't be able to be at the front of the queue.

I suppose I will be able to walk the next day though, my knees were purple for days after the Scala.
