it's

the whole group that they're owned by isn't it? They're removing their digital services for some channels and removing analogue for XFM?

Planet Rock I think is one going, oh dear... ;)

yep

gcap media having a few problems.

planet rock and the jazz are being shut down.

take-up of DAB is poor, apparently. other broadcasters are also cutting digital radio stations. Oneword went last month, much to the annoyance of my wife's gran.

But they replaced it with non-stop birdsong

much to the satisfaction of me.

I came across

Birdsong the other day... hahahaha! apparently it's one recording made in the 70's put on a loop. Better than listening to Art Brut any day.

if take up is so poor

then why do i know so many people who own digital radios...

people aren't listening to the shoddy commercial services, is what happened.

:(

my parent love plannet rock :(

wow

xfm wales has been going for like, err, barely half a year.

FYI, they're not being shut down, but sold off. In the long term tho' that could mean that it does change format...

makes sense

the only thing worth listening to is John Kennedy, which goes out on all stations anyway, doesn't it?

yep

does in south wales...

whenever i've tuned in they've been playing the stereophonics or something similar. it's just not been must listen to radio...
