loud noises!

I suddenly want to listen to noisier music, because I've realised that my music collection is more boring than previously thought. I've already been reccomended At the Drive In, and I'm just about to order HEALTH.

Other stuff?

PS, not The Melvins.

Million Dead

Refused
etc

if you like at the drive in, you should also like Sparta's first album

Yes to Sparta, though ignore the mellower ones, as they are probably

what you would want to be staying away from. Not that they are bad, just not ATDi...

Turn the volume up?

Seriously guys.

Sparta is hella weak.

DOWN I GO!

www.myspace.com/downigo

Some Girls
Drumcorps
Atari Teenage Riot
Fu Manchu
Therapy?
Holy Molar
ArnoCorps

That should give you some variety. :D

Converge!

'Jane Doe'! Or anything!
Its all about Converge!

ah

well, i meant cough in a 'shameless promotion' over sense, but when i hit send it made me think you could do a lot worse than checking out COUGHS. their records on load are both great, they were amazing live (tho they split up, booo)

wut is it?

NO PICTURES? REALLY!?

please explain... it all looks fine on my computer....

anyway, there is lots and lots of links to good bands off the chinchilla site, not just ones on our label neither.

Converge!

Botch!
High On Fire!
ISIS!

Yeeeeeaaaahhhh

Perhaps too noisy-

Coalesce
The Dillinger Escape Plan
Rabies Caste
Will Haven

erm

P.S Not the Melvins?????

MAN

THE
FUCK
UP

:D just.... boring?

to me. But I will do as your told and eat raw bricks, etc

Chew lightbulbs

and piss fire. This being the mark of a man.

*Chew fire

*Piss lightbulbs

We Are The Romans

By Botch.
Get it immediately. Louder stuff...umm...where do you start? In On The Kill Taker by Fugazi is a good one. Some Melt Banana, Circle Takes The Square, Doppelganger by The Fall Of Troy, Rolo Tomassi and The Murder Of Rosa Luxemburg.
Hypermagic Mountain is good if you want excess...Until Your Heart Stops by Cave In is great too, and has got some fantastic noise moments.

Lightning Bolt

If you haven't listened to them already.

Oh,

and if you like Lightning Bolt, listen to Ruins.

And

Parts & Labor and Pterodactyl

My spouse out of the house list:

Agoraphobic Nosebleed
Envy
Johnny Truant
Early Sonic Youth
Converge
ISIS
Gay for Johnny Depp
Mastodon
Dillinger Escape Plan

.

black pus
mindflayer
aids wolf
coachwhips
parts and labor

anything on load records

Tried

Pantera?

daughters

just daughters is all you need really

Haha

Blackpus would scare the shit out of someone whose volume reference is HEALTH.

The Levitating Chandelier

Look out for a band called, Orgone. Tech Death with mathy/hardcore overtones and a post-rock edge. Really impressive stuff.

etc.

try dinah washington and emil beaulieau, class.

.

...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead

Yeah its not the Melvins, it's 'Melvins'

And if you don't like them, well, you will in future.

And as I consider this topic a specialty, try these on for size:

Boris (Japanese aggro stoner)

Mission of Burma (loudest and best 80s american alternative band around. Entire catalogue is solid gold excellence)

Mudhoney (must have)

...And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead (everything up to Sources Tags and Codes is LOUD)

The Blood Brothers (shouty hardcore with yelpy twisted vocals and they're absolutely fuckin' a)

The Icarus Line (Mono is pretty much the sickest and loudest album I ever heard)

Black Flag and Minor Threat cover loud and raucous hardcore. Get Damaged and Complete Discography NOW.

Mastodon and High On Fire for metal goodness. Pretty much pick and choose from their back catalogues.

For postrocky loudness, get ISIS' Panopticon, and Pelican's Australasia EP. And there's nothing wrong with a bit of Mogwai for ear bleeding sounds, so get Young Team and My Father My King....

And of course, the granddaddies of rock and roll noise pollution- The Stooges.

^

Would you ever consider marrying me?

you didnt mention

Merzbow. the marriage is off. C_R can have you

^^^^^this

or anything vaguely 'power electronicy'

see the band whitehouse for more information

McLusky

Part Chimp
Mudhoney
TODD
Faith No More

The obvious choice is always

Lightning Bolt, but they are literally the loudest band I've ever seen (a lot of it is down to proximity of the amps and the rest of it is down to how fucking loud the amps are in the first place).

Lightning Bolt was the only gig I've been to where people were handing out pieces of bread to squash, roll into a ball and turn into ear plugs. YES!

I'll add Les Rallizes Denudes too

Because I see you like the Velvet Underground, and Les Rallizes Denudes are like their Japanese contemporaries. Get a good quality bootleg of theirs, and crank the volume up! Bliss.

burn piano island burn!

(blood brothers)

The Swans

and The Locust

^ i dunno

if he found The Melvins boring i can hardly see Swans setting his world alight.

how can you find the melvins boring

im currently listening to spaceman 3 quite loudly.. i ha dforgotten just how much they rock.. i hope my neighbours like it

maybe

he downloaded charmicarmicat off EggNog? It's a fine EP but that song is just 12 minutes of what sounds like a washing machine going round. Personally that's exactly why i LOVE the melvins but i could see why to the uninitiated it'd spark fear and contempt.

No mentions of

Today is The Day 'Kiss the Pig'
or
Painkiller 'Guts of a Virgin'?

For shame. Both bands are rather worthy loud additions to a music collection.

go to this myspace

Yes they are

have you had the pleasure of seeing them live? one of the guitarists got knocked over in 'the pit' when I saw them yet some how managed to keep on playing not perfect!

urm, that should be

'note' instead of 'not'

:( nope.

I really want to though. Hahaha, oh dear!

I'd love to hear some new stuff as well, but I think I read somewhere about one of the guitarists living in Italy now.

This video of them is ace:

the last thing they did was the oxes ep if you haven't heard that then I'd urge you to check it out, it's pretty fantatic.

The EP was the first thing I got by them and I agree, it's great. 'Afri-Cola' is incredible.
