I recently acquired a few older DMST albums (i previously only had You, You're a History In Rust, and Winter Hymn Country...)

But i have been listening to Goodbye Enemy Airship The Landlord is Dead, and I think it's probably my favourite of the five i now have, what are anyone elses opinions on said band? and are there other groups i ought to really like like this that i probably haven't heard of?

That's my favourite album too

with '& Yet & Yet' a close second.

Check out:

Set Fire To Flames
Exhaust

I like that

classic noodlanding song. Is it worth getting some albums then?

<3 DMST

they are one of my favourite bands

so good. you've probably heard of most of these buuuut..

don cabellero
hreda
tortoise
fly pan am
silver mt zion
god is an astronaut
flying saucer attack
i love you but ive chosen darkness
yndi haldi

some others that im really into atm

this is a process of a still life (shit name but great band)
damn dirty apes
cul de sac
life to experience
vessels
sweep the leg johnny

also try

Fly Pan Am
Esmerine

seconded on esmerine

pure-montreal-goodness

More obvious ones:

Broken Social Scene
Of Montreal

it doesn't matter how obvious they are

broken social scene are orgasmically good

i do love

of montreal, but theyre not really anything like do make say think...

Broken Social Scenes

very first album. Is by and large the closest you'll get to the stuff on &yet&yet. I'd also reccomend Slaraffenland's 'Private cinema'.

Get anything by Berg Sans Nipple as well, they supported DMST a while back and members of DMST appear on at least one of their albums.

Akron/Family if you liked the singy bits on the latest DMST, Bell Orchestre if you like the bits with violin-y stuff, Fridge if you like the weirdy bits...

I hate it when people hear/see the words 'Do make say think' and then proceed to tell you to listen to loads of stuff that isnt really that similar but is lazily dumped into the 'post-rock' genre.

Oh, and Bablicon

if you like the Jazzyness. LOTS of Bablicon.

if you like do make say think...

...try Berg Sans Nipple too.

Their last album is absolute genius.

Do Make Say Think are incredible. Have been listing to '& yet & yet' loads lately.

Good call...

Saw Berg Sans Nipple support DMST last year. Great gig.

i've not...

...seen berg sans nipple, but i've been listening to their last record constantly in the last few weeks. Its great. And 'form of' is good, also.

'the landlord

is dead' is probably my favourite DMST song but I think 'winter hymn..' would be my favourite album. They're all bloody ace though so it's all relative anyway.

there's a band

called 'the drift' who are playing the explosions atp this year.
definite similarities to early dmst recordings, with a touch of dub.
