Re: Carling Stage

Fairly un inspiring list, is that it?

Re: Carling Stage

out of those, I would recommend the following as worth seeing:

The Raveonettes
Sleater Kinney
Adam Green
The Dresden Dolls

I would also recommend Ladytron, but they clash with The Pixies and this ere boy is going to have to make a tough decision that night.

Re: Carling Stage

amusement parks on fire, dresden dolls, saul williams, ladytron, forward russia, sleater kinney, the go! team.. are all worth a look.. SK in particular because the new album really is rather good..

Re: Carling Stage

the bands i plan to attempt to see are

the national
Arctic Monkeys
Foward Russia
and Echo and the Bunnymen!!!

Re: Carling Stage

I just bought "songs you learn and sing to". Or something along those lines. How good?

Re: Carling Stage

The National are great.

Re: Carling Stage

Cherubs are definitely worth seeing. Well, I haven't seen them live, but if their album is anything to go by, they should be good.

Re: Carling Stage

I'd recommend seeing
Sleater Kinney
Dresden Dolls
Amusement Parks on Fire
Go! Team
and possibly Battle

avoid
The Paddingtons
The Rifles
Dogs
Towers of London

IMO

Re: Carling Stage

go see:

>arctic monkeys
>the blood arm
>the rifles
>we are scientists

maybe saul williams.

Re: Carling Stage

see...

Ladytron
Saul Williams
Sleater Kinney

other than that i can go without all of them.

Re: Carling Stage

and you shall find me at...
The Paddingtons
Yeti
Dogs
Arctic Monkeys
Adam Green
Komakino

Re: Carling Stage

You HAVE to see the Mystery Jets, and check out Saul Williams, Forward Russia!, The Blood Arm and Echo and The Bunnymen, although depends if you would prefer to watch Bloc Party on the Radio 1 stage - it will be packed by then though, and also full of annoying scenester types so depends if you're a die hard bloc party fan or not. im probably going to steer clear of them cos I've already seen em twice and fancy something different.

Re: Carling Stage

well as legendary as maiden are i'll be missing them, it's between echo' or bloc party..i've got tix to see them bristol in october so is it worth seeing echo' or bloc party twice..

Re: Carling Stage

Korn?!

Re: Carling Stage

The Reading lineup is great - its got better and better. Anyone up for a DiS Festival meet-up?! (Prefably if your female, blonde and gorgeous)

Re: Carling Stage

i'm male, and blonde... 1 and a half enough??

Re: Carling Stage

yeah sorry don't meet criteria but i'd be up for that

Re: Carling Stage

don't think it'd work, mr. poohat is a (previously public) killers fan.. ;)

Re: Carling Stage

yeah it looks like that, i was typing Komakino and i got to Kom and it disapeared. now i realise that was just to the bottom of the list making it look like nu-metal is being defended this year

Re: Carling Stage

Haha. It still looks like k-o-r-n to me. My monitor needs replacing.

Re: Carling Stage

Ladytron
Saul Williams
The Cherubs
The Rogers Sisters
The Go! Team
The Raveonettes
The Dresden Dolls

Re: Carling Stage

Sleater Kinney are an absolute must-see.
Their last album is really good and they're a fantastic live band.
