R.E.M. have announced the first details of the UK leg of their forthcoming European tour.
That tour isn’t ‘til August, but so far the band will play four shows of their own after festival appearances at Oxegen (Co. Kildare, Ireland) and T in the Park (Kinross, Scotland) in July.
Stipe et al. also play a show at the Royal Albert Hall next month to help raise money for the ICA – with support from the Duke Spirit, Robyn Hitchcock and Foals, details can be found here.
Itinerary:
August
24 Manchester Lancashire County Cricket Club
25 Cardiff Millenium Stadium
27 Southampton Rosebowl
30 London Twickenham Stadium
Tickets will go on sale this Friday (29 Feb) at 9am.
The band’s new album, Accelerate, will arrive on the 31st of March, (details).

Massive pile of horseshitpoo
No Scottish solo date?
T in the Park
I hate it when bands assume that an appearance at T in the Park covers the Scottish leg of the tour!
YEY!!!!!!!!!
And I get paid on Fri! I think I'll go to Soton date.
oh REM
why must you play crap venues and charge £45? Still, at least it's not indoor arenas. I'll definitely be at the London gig.
:(
The Hyde Park show was probably my favourite show ever but I don't think I'll be able to afford this. Sucks.
hyde park was fab. the bad tan lines i got from queuing lasted over a year...
these are shitty venues, but I'll still be at twickenham anyway...
This is a bit annoying.
Very close to reading and probably expensive. But they're so good the other times I've seen them. May jib the UK ones off and go to Werchter instead.
