My ex girlfriends boyfriend, is really quite good.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1mQ5xiG6Wkc sound quality is awful.
all songs by bands since (arbitrary point in the 60s) are, to some extent, about being a band as much as they are about anything else, what with the weight of rock history resting on the writers' shoulders
i say million dead in particular because frank's lyrics at least seem to personal that the events and views that he talks about in his lyrics are the things that made him who he is as a person, and thus made him a person who wanted to be in a band, specifically a hardcore-ish band. my slightly flakey point is that, without forging some entirely new idiom, everything that's written by a band is at least partially influenced by the handed down notions of what "being a band" means. all writing is to some degree "about" the act of writing.
Touring by the Ramones - off one of their later albums (Mondo Bizarro perhaps)
The Top Seven Singles Club by the hideously underrated Wolf Colonel (RIP).
And perhaps my favorite song about the joys and tribulations of being in a band - This Boy Is Exhausted by The Wrens, which probably sums up the highs (and lows) of band life more articulately than anyone else has ever managed.
by I, Ludicrous - about how Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine went on to be ridiculously successful by pretty much ripping off their sound, what with them coming from the same postal district and riding on the same bus and all. Great sour grapes "it should have been us" fare.
'Cause I can't write
What I know

i say million dead in particular because frank's lyrics at least seem to personal that the events and views that he talks about in his lyrics are the things that made him who he is as a person, and thus made him a person who wanted to be in a band, specifically a hardcore-ish band. my slightly flakey point is that, without forging some entirely new idiom, everything that's written by a band is at least partially influenced by the handed down notions of what "being a band" means. all writing is to some degree "about" the act of writing.
'Behind The Music' by The Vandals

Formed a Band

Touring by the Ramones - off one of their later albums (Mondo Bizarro perhaps)
The Top Seven Singles Club by the hideously underrated Wolf Colonel (RIP).
And perhaps my favorite song about the joys and tribulations of being in a band - This Boy Is Exhausted by The Wrens, which probably sums up the highs (and lows) of band life more articulately than anyone else has ever managed.
