Yeah it is, it's a little bit more minimal than 'Up in Flames' or 'Milk of Human..' but its really good, nice and chilled. 'Milk of Human..' is still my favourite of his though.

alas, i'm a poor kitty at the momento but just received the shipping news 'flies the field' - awesome! rotation has been cumbersome but it will firmly be fixed on the record player for the next week! (as much as i love going into record stores, yay to buying records via the internet from the usa!)

After my exams are done there'll be no stopping me though.

Top of my extensive wishlist at the moment are Keep It Like A Secret by Built To Spill, lots more Red House Painters and Pavement stuff, real copies of the Decemberists albums, Change by the Dismemberment Plan, new Alkaline Trio album and Big Star's Third.

I've just got Ocean Beach so far, which is a fucking beautiful album. I've heard a few tracks from some of the other albums (Katy Song, Mistress, Have You Frogotten), and I think I want the self titled one with the rollercoaster on the front next.

I did say on another thread that Jeff Tweedy was the lyricist of his generation, but Kozelek comes damn close (tied for second with Oberst I think).

Yeah, that's a good choice. A small criticism I have is that think it's too long at 70+ minutes (there's only so much emotional outpouring I can take!).

I've got the first 4 albums, if you count Down Colorful Hill as an album, and can never decide which of the s/t ones are the best. I've seen people saying how good Have You Forgotten is so I guess I should buy the album that's on (Songs for a Blue Guitar?) as well.

Along with the Pixies, RHP really are a band that've stood the test of time with me. It's nearly 13 years since I first heard Medicine Bottle, and I still think it's one of the most affecting songs I've heard, Kozelek really puts himself out there on the ledge with his lyrics.

well, they are quite the relaxing listen. They write very catchy melodies, and mix these with snappy guitar riffs and some good harmonies. I suppose bittersweet would sum them up, as their songs generally sound upbeat and happy, but they mix this with somber lyrics. I got into them straight away, it was an instantly rewarding listen. Recommended indeed.

i bought a signor ros album, the one with the ailen on the front can begin to remember what its called........ i like it but its too moody for me right now, a good autumn winter record methinks......
