no idea. .But he tours quite frequently and always seems to play a large venue each time he performs in Manchester, so I suspect he's at least adequate. Probably wont provide much of a visual spectacle though!
I think you should have at least a few more days. .Have a look on Wegottickets, it will have the number of tickets available stated. .Although more could be allocated.
A friend-ish is supporting him at Bush Hall, too. If I'd been told earlier by a person who * I * have mentioned favourite artist gigs too (Hot Snakes...Hidden Cameras etc), then I would have booked my flight the day after.
Sorry for the self-promotion here but I know there's a lot of CFTPA fans on DiS so I thought I'd let ya all know that we will be releasing a new Casiotone for the Painfully Alone 7" EP called 'Town Topic' to coincide with his imminent UK tour.
Town Topic is a 4 track 7" release of songs taken for the Laurel Nakadate feature-length movie 'Stay The Same Never Change'.
The initial run of just 200 will be available on solid blue 42g weight 7" vinyl at the merch table of the upcoming Casiotone UK tour (100 available) starting March 5th in London at Bush Hall, following the tour (from March 17th) the record will be available in our Webstore (www.oibrecords.com/shop.htm) while stocks last (100 available). Our webstore version will come with two limited edition badges designed by Casiotone, including a badge of our logo redesigned by Casiotone himself.
We will be starting a pre-order on the record on March 5th at www.oibrecords.com
The second run of 900 copies will be available in equal quantities of clear and black vinyl versions available for retail in Europe and the USA via Southern Records in April.
Tracklisting:
1. Ice Cream Truck
2. Town Topic (instrumental)
3. I Love Creedence (instrumental)
4. Green Cotton Sweater (version)
You can hear Ice Cream Truck streamed now on our MySpace page at www.myspace.com/oibrecords and see the trailer for the movie on the Stay The Same Never Change website.
Errrrr....I guess that's it.
Oh and Casiotone added this date:
March 19th - The Luminaire, London
...Chris UTR just told me that Max Tundra was the only support and he's was going to play for an hour. Sorry I couldn't help anymore. Oh apparently they'll be tickets on the door for those without credit cards.
if I can find a ticket (poss. from birdling?) for tomorrow at Bush Hall, would everyone promise to be nice to me? The show's just down the road from me and I'm quite feeling something a bit different.
max tundra.
music = good.
dancing = good.
singing = bad.
also he played for an HOUR. which i thought was too much for one support act. and the fact that CFTPA only played for an hour. surely this all could have been shifted somehow??!
cardiff too! we have munch munch, the voluntary butler scheme and michael knight. all of these people are ace. i hope there's lots of stuff for me to buy..
I went to the merch stall and Owen Ashworth was stood next to it, so I bought the tour 7" and asked him to sign it. He wrote 'IF I FIND THIS ON EBAY I WILL HUNT YOU DOWN, NEIL GRUNSHAW'
Yep
Ive tickets for the Manchester gig, Im surprised it hasnt sold out, actually. .
I've heard his stuff on MySpace.
Is he any good live?

I will hopefully go

No names mentioned at all.
Not really.
Casiotone is awesome. I've never seen him headline. Those floating tickets need to be snapped up!
he's playing at the luminaire too
a couple of weeks later i think...
I'm going
Last time he played here (Belfast) there were more seats in the bar than attendees, it wasn't great frankly. But this town is full of savages.
