Slight exaggeration there as I do sleep for a good few hours every night, but it takes forever before I actually fall asleep... I've been going to bed between midnight and 1 and not fallen asleep until 3-4. And then I wake up earlier than I normally do. IT SUCKS. I feel tired all the time.
There must be some insomniacs on here, any tips, is there anything I can do at all?

I don't have a very busy schedule most days but do try to get up at 10ish even the days when I don't have anything until late in the afternoon. So it is actually pretty regular even if I do go to bed kind of late.
make yourself get up before 9.
Do you do much exercise/get out of the house much?
no I don't
cause it's been cold and I'm lazy, but have been thinking about this. There is a fucking hailstorm at the moment but will go for a walk or something later I think.

- Don't stimulate your brain before the last hour before bed; that includes watching television that makes you think, conversing on the internet etc. Best to watch naff TV - something like friends or a film you don't really care about
- Have a warm bath 30 mins before bed
- Get rid of as much noise as possible - if you're a light sleeper, wear earplugs or go to bed with gentle music on your MP3 player
- If absolutely desperate, half the recommended dose of Night Nurse; nothing more though, it'll make you groggy
Basically, your brain needs to wind down, so as little mental stimulation as possible is key.

unfortunately I don't have a tv and no bath tub but I tried the mp3 player last night, and did feel it working but then had to take it off... I've been trying to keep my mind busy with stupid things though cause if I go to bed and start thinking about serious stuff then I won't get any sleep at all. Reading always used to do the trick but hasn't recently.
