Mark Bright probably.

I went through a Sheffield Wednesday supporting phase. Kids are weird though - why the hell didn't I pick Waddle?

Marco Van Basten

The greatest footballer you never actually saw but think you did.

Mark Hughes

a quiet bloke but not to be fucked with and an absolute beast of a striker. Cantona usurped him as my hero when Sparky went to Chelsea, but I was gutted to see the back of him.

Childhood villain was Paul Ince, the big time Charlie cunt.

Lee Chapman

footballers

y is evry1's hero a footballer! evn i can kick a ball around

Congratulations.

can you head a ball that's half a yard of the ground, like Steve Bruce?

Can you get a pentalty saved and then diving header in the reboud, like Mick Quinn?

Can you take on the whole Spurs team, twice, running the full length of the pitch and score, like Terry Phelan?

Can you score a goal after using the goalkeepers back for an assist, like Dean Saunders?

Can you be a world-beater whilst carrying off the perfect horseshoe, like Atillio Lombardo?

Can you keep Oldham up on the last day of the season, like Joe Royle?

Can you chip your own goalkeeper from 25 years, like Lee Dixon?

Can you score two thirty-five yard screamers with your big toe, a la Tony Yeboah?

Can you knock Bayern Munich out of the Waffa Cup?

Can you sign a joker just because he says he's related to the world player of the year?

No son, you can't.

my friend plays for charlton under 18's.....end of bruv

^ well done to him.

How does he spend his £80 a week?

little lad

performance enhancing drugs, what do you think?

Also a woman does his washing for free.

The reason why my hero was a footballer

was because I was a kid at the time and clearly the three best things in the world were football, dinosaurs and that boy on Woof! who could turn into a dog. I knew full well that Woof! was just a tv show and the boy couldn't really do that and I'd never ever met any dinosaurs or seen them on TV except in cartoons so my hero HAD to be a footballer.

Han Solo

I had a costume as well.,

Joe Carter

Still my hero now.

Bottom on the 9th, Game 6 of the World Series. Philadephia lead 6-5 and Terry Mulholland is pitching for them. 1 out.

Ricky Henderson is walked. Paul Molitor singles.

2 on, 1 out, and Joe Carter is on the plate. Pitch count at 2-2.

In comes the slider...

A swing, and a belt!

Left field!

Way back!

Got goosebumps just remembering it now. Three-run walk-off homer to win back-to-back World Series for the Jays.

"Touch 'em all, Joe, you'll never hit a bigger home run in your life!"

Fucking fantastic. Brought tears to my eyes.

Daly Thompson & Mr T

I wore nothing but red t-shirts, dungarees and a scowl in tribute to baraccas...despite being a white, blonde 5 year old boy. Bless
