I know, I know. It's best not to think about it. But a band I like (and am working on at the moment, and enjoying being invloved with!) have been nominated to 'go on Lily Allen' next week. And as much as the other band (Clocks) would like to 'go on Lily Allen', I feel Malakai deserve it more, being the fascinatingly oddball pop presence that they are.

If you feel anything in that blackened, dry heart of yours, vote! Vote for hope! Vote for change! Vote for a NEW AMERICA!

Have a look, anyway - vote link is here - http://www.charmfactory.co.uk/malakai/index2.html

Alternatively, jokes about 'going on Lily Allen' are also accepted.

Malakai for me

...because they'd freak Lily Allen out to no end.

^this

I can't pronounce Malakia.

MAH LAH KI

Like Malkovich with a speech impediment.

That's MAH LAH KYE.

With KYE like RYE.
Not KI like SKI.

KY LIKE SKY NOT KI LIKE SKI

Are you With The Programme?

Is it not?

MAH LAH KIA like KIA in KIA-ORA, you know, the crappy orange squash Farmfoods sell dirt cheap to entice studenty folk like my (fine) self?

No, dude.

Malakiora is a liver condition.

Also:

It appears I cannot read.

Dyslexic maybe? I don't think so. Maybe just 'special'.

Ignore everything I have said.

One step ahead of ya!!

Voted Malakai

Brilliant they definitely deserve to "be on Lilly Allen" - actually does any one deserve that!

Good luck Malakai!!!

bizarrely, this poster has two posts

this one here and one spamming for Clocks. what a turncoat!

I'd like to 'go on Lily Allen',

But I've just had one....:D

*that was the punchline I think.

nnnnyeah.

You see, that punchline could apply equally to-

"go" on Lily Allen

or

"go on Lily Allen"

...

... which I guess is either win/win or lose/lose depending on how much you love/loath the mockerney popstress. And water sports.

To be honest I dont mind her that much.

I heard 'cry' (I think thats what its called) the other day playing on my flatmates stereo, and I thought to myself that it is in fact a very well written and catchy song.

Good man.

Do you like em?

I've been DJing "The Battle" out and it's gone down super-well with loads of different crowds.

I am properly excited to see them live. They played at ATP but apparently both vocalists had quite severe larynx problems so I'm glad that I get to save my first impression!

I am listening to them now.

Pretty interesting.

Sort of lo-fi minimalist overdriven pop (not sure if you agree?)

Snowflake is cool, yeah I like it.

I took ages to get my head around what they're actually doing.

It's really quite a unique mashed up bunch of influences and sound sources they have, shot through with positivity and a good solid progressive philosophy, and candour, and humour. They've made their own TV series, completely DIY, and it's amazing.

They're just great, slippery and hard to pin down but kind of... completely and utterly pop. Just not the anodyne kind of pop we've become over-accustomed to.

I cant work out why I havent heard of this lot before.

Theres, elements of Beta band in 'The story of Malakai'.

Yeah, its really good!

:)

They're just really new!

I voted for them

purely because the front page of their site is a bit like my bands front page. It was a bit like voting for MYSELF.

Good time

to point out that Lily Allen & Friends is fucking shit?

.

I don't think people who watch Ms Allen aren't particularly interested in anything other than "seein' Lill-E av a gd thyme olololol" Know what i mean?

Hey...

What's wrong with Lilly Allen?

The programme

is patronising in the extreme.

See, you sent me this invite to this facebook group about this right?

And you say they have entertaining skits.

But where are the skits? How am I meant to feel passionately about something I know nothing about?

I was going to

Then it turned out they were shit.

wow

bands get nominated to go on this thing? how's that work then, is it all down to the power of myspazz or something seeing as it's lillly alllen.

their staying power

if they can hump lily allen to such a state of orgasmic ecstasy that she drops her nail file then they can go on the show.

I personally hope Craine get to go on and boost their profile by the two people watching.

Lily Allen

is everything a proper girlie should be, and I want to protect her.

ummm

why would a good band want to go on that show anyway?

Publicity.

They are on.
Tonight.
BBC 3.
10.30pm

Yelle...

was on it a couple of weeks ago, and she's fantastic.

Very bizzare

I got an e-mail today from one of my best pals Scott telling me to check out his mate Billy's new band Malakai!

i still haven't seen this show yet

seeing as dexter aint on until 11.30, it's a date

I made the title sequence

to 'Lily Allen and Friends'

Get me.

I am quit.

But now and then, you know.

I visit.

Its funny but sad to see the zeitgeist fall on its arse

its harmless stuff really. I can't hate lily allen at all.

Malaka is Greek for wanker.

Shame about the superfluous "i" on the end.
