Do you have any specific songs that you like to play when you are getting ready (like for the day, for a date, etc.)? I'm pretty capricious in this area, but recently I had my iPod on shuffle while I was doing my hair and "Hardest Button to Button" popped up, and it is an amazing song to do your hair to, as it turns out.

(cue zero replies due to weird hair bit)

Whigfield

Saturday Night.

Not really...erm, probably YMO (this seems to be my response to all music threads), Black Devil Disco Club, Ariel Pink, Midnight Star (only if I'm feeling great, which happens every two years), Hidden Cameras, jangly indie type things, Casiotone.

It used to be Joy Division or the Sex Pistols when I was a teenager.

i like listening to Bowie when i cut people's hair

for some reason the haircuts always turn out fabulous!
for getting ready to go out I always listen to the Heads Up album by Death From Above.
though i also find WTF by Fake Shark Real Zombie is quite good too! (on a side note, they're playing Winnipeg tonight but I have no way to get into town..*sob*..this is the second time i've missed them this month!)

Guns n Roses

Nighttrain was the best when I was younger.
These days? maybe Dream Theater.

the Freedom of Choice album

by Devo is a really good morning/getting ready for work or uni album. It wakes you up, yet it's not harsh or shrill enough to make you want to turn it off.

also

I Need A Life by Born Ruffians
this song makes me so happy!

Raw Power

for the adrenaline. It's better than meth.

I like to sing along to Nantes by Beirut

as I brush my teeth

i just listened

and yes, it is a very toothbrushing song!

Oh yes

although it puts you in a particularly hedonistic/nihilistic frame of mind!

I was referring to raw power

of course..

She's a Rejector - Of Montreal

Is the best song to listen to in the shower...

OOOOOH NOOO, SHE'S A REJECTOR!!!!

Can't beat it.

Hendrix version

of 'Killing Floor'

I don't go out anymore :(

But I always used to listen to Fluke's 'groovy feeling' or 'slid' before going out.

Motley Crue

Live Wire

Ted Nugent

'Fist Fighting Son of a Gun'

Any Bon Jovi is good too.

jesus built my hotrod - ministry

Either

The Rapture, Gotta Get Myself Into It/Out of the Races Onto The Tracks or some Death From Above. They're pretty good for putting me into party mode.

everytime i die

ebowlarama ... gets me in the mood for crime and dancing...

Tankus The Henge

Smiling Makes The Day Go Quicker

Get Ready

is always a good one.
