really surprised

that people aren't more excited about this.. i getting ludicrously happy at the thought of the fortuitous convergance between payday and a tickets going onsales for a neil young gig : )

i'm ridiculously excited

the live set last week was good, but the prospect of seeing a full on crazy horse show...full length electric set...it's making me wet..

its not crazy horse

that was a rumour thats been shot down

even so

full length electric set...whoever he plays with...

I AM

THERE

whichever band ..

i've seen Neil with 4 different bands now, and i'd say the current one was even better than Crazy Horse

i've never heard him rock out like he did last week. Stunning aint the word

any

more news on this ?

seetickets will

have these from 9

http://www.seetickets.com/see/event.asp?e%7Cartist=NEIL+YOUNG&n|artist=null&resultsperpage=20&filler1=see&filler2=art-srch

£56 for one ticket

including seewhore charges.
it's worth the money, annoyingly.

am i going to this

someone decide for me, now!

argh!

i am now minus 110 quid.
woo.

I hope so

I just bought a pair an' all.

You won't regret it.

He was mindboggling good at the weekend. Worth every penny. I'd go to this too if I could afford it.

Booked It

see you all there

I really

want to go to these, just a shame none of my dumb friends dont like him!

Is this an electric set only?

or will he do as acoustic section?

either way im happy though

think its same set up

as he's just done, acoustic then electric.

wish i had enough money

he was amazing last week

Get the fook in

5 tickets = £280 = ouch

Is Young picking the other acts

for the festival too?

he's curating it

and its billed as a one day festival.

uhoh

that means PEGI.

you know he only puts her on before him to make him look better..."yes dear please do my entire tour you're so good!"

50 quid for this

in the current live climate is pretty friggin ace i think. I just bought a ticket.

Especially as it was £75 last week, and its an all day event. How many bands? is it 8? have i just picked that number out of the air?

HOORAY!!!

So thought I wouldn't get tickets. This is going to be amazing. I hope he plays all the songs he didn't play on Friday. All 2000000 of them.

so how do we get to this place?

i don't understand their website.

also it has transpired that zapsta doesn't know neil young! i bet tom whmyan knows neil young.

Amazing Gig

This is a wonderful event, the Hop Farm is quanit and if, dare I say, we get the great weather it'll be amazing and unique, especially for such a tiny, but lovely place as The Hop Farm, it's barely half hour from me and i'm delighted
If he plays only half the set he has done in London last week it'll be an amazing event.
Craig, Kent

craig!

from kent!

what's the nearest train station to the farm?

aargh

why does this have to go on sale a week before payday..I don't know if can push my remaining expenses right now..I've only just paid off the other nights show!

Primal Scream have been added to this.

Makes it a bit less appealing.

I'm going

hopefully Primal Scream will get 5 minutes and Neil Young will just play for 4 hours

FAO: people going

would anyone be interested in a fun-bus sort of thing from london to kent?

yes

yes i would + 4

Yeah, this

I'll be going with one other person, and if there are enough numbers to make it workable I'd be happy to organise some kind of Sunshine Bus there and back.

...

Also, Primal Scream = good choice, Neil. No, really.

if it was just a set of

stuff from the 2 good albums, it would be fine, and scare the shit out of some of the audience. alas it'll be country girl.

ok, cool!

so that 4 for jesechristo, 2 for joe, 2 for me = 8 in total. how many people would we need joe?

me too

+2 others I'm sure would also be interested if that is any help

I would be up for it

Though i have never met anyof you guys, so a meet up beforehand would be cool..

Great

I'll make some inquiries.

I'm hoping the weather will be good

I like the fact that there will be no sponsorship or branding or any of that shit.

yeah, but...

... its Vince Power though innit so he probably went down that road as some sort of USP-marketing routine.

This would be incredibly even if it sponsored by Coke and Shell was busing us all down there in Hummers.

haha

Im gonna make that festival

thats because

they have so much money they don't need to be. as jesechristo said, he's just trying to seem all noncorporate and stuff.

"he's just trying to be noncorporate"

so? He IS being noncorporate, whatever his reasons, so it's A GOOD THING. It's like complaining about Mcdonalds going all green and nice after Super Size Me came out. IT'S STILL GOOD.

so you fell for the

mcdonalds pretending to go nice thing?

Any idea of who else is playing?

A few years ago didn't Neil Young organise a charity gig and have Thom Yorke supporting?

that was the bridge school

benefit. he does it every year.

me + 4

for the 'fun' bus...sounds like a plan.
not happy about primal scream...one of the worst live bands i've ever had the misfortune of seeing...there again mr young's tastes are, shall we say, fucking weird?
eddie vedder solo support ftw.

i don't think he's actually

curating it is he? if so pegi will def. be playing...i really doubt he's a primal scream fan

primal scream

worst live band ever? when did you see them? I've seen them over 20 times and would say they're one of the best live bands out there and I've seen plenty. Depends when you saw them. The last tour was tired sounding.

not the worst live band ever

but probably one of the worst bands ever. Just dreadful.

so now for the fun bus

it seems there are about fifteen or so of us that would be interested. sounds like enough, doesn't it joe?

Do we need a DES

or does the funbus come with a driver?

driver included

or at least, the one we got to and from Truck last year had a driver - I can't remember the name of the firm but I've messaged the girl who organised it and I'll ask them

wierd...

... i read that as "I've massaged the girl who organised it."

I guess i only read what i want to read.

also

ask them not to use the same driver unless you want to end up at ealing broadway again.
i'm half tempted by this actually...canna really afford it at the moment though.

comeeeeee

to be honest jamie, i will likely have a spare ticket when this comes around as no one i know likes neil young.

near the time i'll probably

grab one somehow, but at the moment i have 3 festivals in may that will cost me money, plus a holiday in july to pay for...

cool

is there going to be a specific drop off and pick up point? if so, i vote for victoria:)

Just had an email confirming another name

...Supergrass.

Are they going to play every single festival in Britain this summer?

neil young

+ primal scream + supergrass? they'll just embaress themselves next to the great man. talk about second rate. i'm going but no need to turn up early at the moment !
