There's an interview/article with Sebastien from DFA1979 where he rants about the state the of British music scene. Heheh. In the NME no less. He slags off Razorlight and The Libertines etc... NME don't do irony.

Actually, there's a Bloc Party cover on the new DFA single. Cheek.

Comes off a bit arrogant, and fails to mention anything about the shite the US produces (0h wait he's Canadian), but he makes some good points.

Oh, and wait for this! Hard Fi's new single gets single of the week and THEY FUCKING THINK HARD FI ARE BETTER THAN THE CLASH. FOR FUCKS SAKE! KILL IT! I DONT EVEN LIKE THE FUCKING CLASH THAT MUCH BUT I STILL ALMOST CRIED.

Excuse the capital letters.

Re: Yet more NME greatness...

I would listen. But DFA are crap.

Re: Yet more NME greatness...

You like AFI and U shitting 2!

Bah!

Actually, the rest of your taste is pretty good, but hmm.

At least read the second bit!

Re: Yet more NME greatness...

No, i read your post.

and the DFA article. But they are shit so i spat on the NME, and yes i do like AFI and U2.

Re: Yet more NME greatness...

saw the NME in a shop
it caused a great disturbance in my bowels
accidentally i shat all over the cover

HARD FI or ROOSTER MKII as i prefer to think of them
ought to go away
its only polite

Re: Yet more NME greatness...

My copy of that NME was thrown around the crowd at the Kings of Leon... It was shit. Green Day... awful CD... and even worse... the STORY behind the songs on Hot Fuss.

a Desperate issue.

Re: Yet more NME greatness...

I am catching a train tonight, away from this HELLHOLE back to tran-fucking-quili-fucking-ty.
So I will probably buy the sodding NMschmE cos it's all I can afford.
No doubt I'll wanna eat it after five minutes and poo it out a window as I pass Micheldever.
Which is a bit like my name, no?

Blah blah blah...
Bollix.

Re: Yet more NME greatness...

Well, have a good time at tranquility, it sounds nice.

Re: Yet more NME greatness...

However much I hate the NME, I still buy the bastard every week. I love DFA1979 and was mildly surprised that NME decided to print Seb's comments seeing as he slagged off pretty much all the bands NME have wanked over in the past year. However, he was absolutely right with everything he said. I really hate all these one-worded Joy Division wannabees at the mo.

Re: Yet more NME greatness...

but you could buy a few decent newspapers for the price of an nme and actually learn something. don't buy the nme, you'll only encourage it to carry on being shit!

Re: Yet more NME greatness...

LEAVE ME ALONE... MAGAZINES HAVE FEELINGS TOO, YOU FASCIST.

Re: Yet more NME greatness...

where have you been?

Re: Yet more NME greatness...

i thought it was funny the bashing he gave the current 'hot talent' of the british music scene ... he made quite a valid point though, there are a lot of guitar bands around today, but it doesnt make this a good time for guitar music in fact most if not all the bands he mentions (and nme loves) are total shite
