i need a rant. sorry.
so last friday, while me and the bf were at work, we had booked in virgin media to come round to install broadband in my bedroom. my housemate was in all day, so I asked her to let the guy in, show him to my room, and stay with him, until he leaves. straightforward enough.
we got home from work on friday, internet fine, job done, went out into town for weekend drinkies. got up saturday morning, and we fancied playing a little resident evil 4 on our brand spanking new wii, which we had bought together about 3 weeks ago, and spent a small fortune on games, controllers, and all that jazz.
but no. it was gone. the fcking virgin media people had sent 2 technicians round, and while 1 was in my room with my housemate, the other had gone downstairs and taken the lot, £400 worth of stuff. the console, 5 games, remotes, scart lead, the lot. they were kind enough to leave the box.
virgin media's reaction - 'well, we'll call the guys into the office, and you never know, they might confess'.
police reaction - 'well, we cant really prove anything...oh, unless you have cctv in your living room?'
:( gutted.
Fucking bastards
But where was your housemate??
watchin the guy in my room
which is fair enough really, got valuables in my bedroom, and when 1 guy got up to get something out of the van outside, my housemate stayed and watched the guy in my room.
That is awful :(
People are w*nkers!
this is the conclusion ive come to as well
but virgin media didnt even seem that surprised, and even said that it happens quite often!
a warning to the rest of you i suppose.
Thats fucking terrible
good luck proving it.
Sounds terrible
But I still don't see how they LITERALLY took the piss. I'm assuming your toilet is still intact?
Do you need to read it again?
I think the point was that there was no literal piss taken.
Unless you got that...
Oh wait.
I just read further down the page. I get it now.
fucking, fucking hell
i always thought that it was paranoid to worry about contractors coming in and stuff, because if anything goes missing its blatant who stole it, and you can find the people.
but no!
jesus christ. cant the police get fingerprints from where the wii was? cos the guy wouldnt have had any reason to be fucking around with the back of his TV?
fucking hell
*your tv
well they said they could get the guys in to fingerprint the place
but implied they couldnt really be bothered, too much time and effort. plus with no forced entry or anything, in their eyes anybody who has been in the house could have taken it. but obviously i know for sure who it was.
do you have any insurance?
would insurance cover this?
cuntbashers!
But I thought this thread would be about urine extraction.
it is
they took the wii!
I GET IT NOW!
That's really clever.
Yeah,
you grammar nazis.
write a HUGE
Complaining letter to Virgin stating that you have written up numerous letters which will be sent out Monday to local papers and also you are thinking of contacting watchdog, also mention you are going to be setting up an online forum and contacting other people with grievances against them.
Also mention you have contact police and they are thinking of investigating further the claims.
They will shit there pants and give you an new wii and compensation.
Do this now and get it sent off today too :)
their
other that that spelling error pretty much spot on I think.
I did this too BT when something simular happend to me, I also got the head guy to come and say sorry to me.
don't mess with Teuport!
That's a great idea
!
totally this ^
don't let the bastards get away with it.
Sheesh - I bet you were gobsmacked. What nobs :(
Sue virgin media!
Call watchdog!
were they sub-contractors?
I can't see why someone would put their job on the line like that otherwise. Obviously if you're quite sure it's them then i'd take it as far as possible, but you have to rule every other possibility out first. There's no chance anyone else could've got in your flat at all? My advice would be to tell Virgin that you're going to your local paper, and then probably do so.
it is a bit of a bluff that one
they refused to print anything like that when i asked saying "WE come get sued" ... but like the police thing Virgin don't know and if you go 'for the throat' they normally do whatever they can to make you happy/shut up and be quiet.
Businesses hate bad publicity so add anything else that you can think of which could possibly damage their public reputation in their eyes and make sure you add all the emotion you are feeling about being stolen from.
c'mon your into politics :)
you're
