Their new single, is, you know, pretty ok. And I still have my 7" of Fried My Little Brains which is actually good in a monotonous way.
Live they are fairly rubbish, but I wouldn't go as far as saying 'really shit'.

They have soul under their shiny packaging. Think Royal Trux lite. The best songs on 'Keep on Your Mean Side' are covers though (haven't heard anything else by them)

I looked up at the listing (I'm at work) and can't see an X cover. But their best song ever is definitely an X cover, which says something.

There's definitely no X cover on there though....X are pretty close to being my favourite band, so if there was my head might explode from over stimulation. But I didn't think The Kills had covered them? Was it a B-side or something?

Do you remember the Texan band Young Heart Attack? They did a cover of 'We're Desperate'. I'm pretty sure The Kills did a cover of this. Maybe I'm confusing the two bands and this is *all lies*
Anyway, I agree on the Kills - they are great, but overshadowed by Travelodges's (as we call him) antics!
Those photos...ha, my friends and I got some of those b&w passport photos done at the Union Pool bar in Williamsburg. They look kind of cool (but yes, pretentious).
